Another huge problem no one is discussing is there too many weight divisions. This prevents the biggest fights from happening especially when there is four champions in each division. Boxing needs to reduce the amount of their weight divisions just like the ufc.

Boxing needs one King and no ways to block fights. No weight divisions, 1 belt, The Face of Boxing. This way Inoue can fight Uysk, for example, being lighter he should have a huge speed advantage over the bigger man, who has more strength. A great 50-50 bout. Boxing also needs a yearly Royal Rumble and other types of special bouts. Nash out - His Most Majestic MajestyLast edited by Nash out; 04-02-2025, 11:38 AM.Willow The Wisp likes this.

We are missing TBE Mayweather and Pacquiao's long reign together at the top, we are missing prime Tyson Fury, Wilder and Joshua when they were unbeaten lions, and Kovalev, Stevenson, and Golovkin era, Green Nelo's rise. These guys kept boxing going. The guys keeping boxing going today are Usyk, Canelo 2.0, Jake Paul, Inoue, Crawford, and Bivol. 6 great fighters, but lacking the aura of the previous list of fighters that I mentioned. Very much in decline. Since Mayweather's phony reign. Crawford is the only great American fighter now. The rest are all protected or head cases. Bernhard Hopkins was the last great American champion before Crawford. Back in the 70s 80s 90s. each division had great Americans. Haymon Mayweather ruined boxing with their business first safety approach.
Now the most famous American fighters are pretenders like Jake Paul or long past greats like Iron Mike.

USA does not even have one legit heavyweight contender in the top ten. Wilder is not a top ten fighter. He's a smoke and mirrors hype job who had to duck AJ, Usyk, Povetkin, Whyte, old Klitschko. Not having one hwt top ten contender is your proof of the decline. So goes the heavyweight division, so goes boxing...
