.“He doesn't have the pool of fighters available – there aren't names left that fight fans want to see."

There are plenty of names that fans want to see Alvarez fight, he's just too chicken to fight them. But I'm pretty sure that one name which is missing from that list is Chris fooking Eubank, Jr!

I've been telling folks that Canelo wanted to be Floyd for years.

And that's not a good thing.

Unfortunately, that's a large part of Cinnamon's fan base.

People who just don't want to see him lose, so they can avoid shame on the internet.

So according to the bunch of whiners here, Who should canelo fight next then? Benavidez fighting Morrell, Beterviev needs to fight an unknown dude next to avoid getting stripped, Bivol coming from a L and the Beterviev rematch still in the air, TC comes from struggling against a 54 pounder, so again, WHO?

        Mbilli?
        The always dangerous Scull?

There is this narrative that Canelo is imitating Mayweather.
Well, he himself probably thinks he his but they are nothing alike.
First of all Mayweather may not have fought Pacquaio when some people wanted it to happen but he did fight him. I don't think Canelo has any intention of fighting Benavidez. The longer he waits the more the chances favor Benavidez.
Canelo fights nothing like Mayweather, everything is declining visibly, so time is definitely not in his favor.

Secondly, lets compare the fights both had after the age of 32.

          Mayweather
          Andre Berto
          Manny Pacquiao
          Marcos Maidana
          Marcos Maidana
          Saul Alvarez
          Robert Guerrero
          Miguel Cotto
          Victor Ortiz
          Shane Mosley
          Juan Manuel Marquez

          Canelo
          Edgar Berlanga
          Jaime Munguia
          Jermell Charlo
          John Ryder
          (Old) Gennadiy Golovkin

And now maybe lining up Eubank Jr....?

Mbilli is the de facto "best" mandatory left on 168, so I'd be totally fine with that choice because he'd be doing what the beltholder is asked to do and should do anyway. I mean, he's definitely not going to fight the 175 guys at this point so Beter/Bivol/Bena/Morrell weren't a choice to begin with, so as long as he's staying in 168 he's the top guy left that Canelo hasn't faced yet. Eff no to Crawford, no need for a bloated 154-er redux.

However I wrote on the first page as well but IF the choice was between Eubank Jr and Scull, I'd take the latter in a heartbeat. Not that I'd WANT to see it, but it has more of an understandable reason in that even for the paperwork purposes only it will make him "undisputed" again, which is one thing more than what fighting Eubank Jr will provide. In all honesty, unless Canelo really wants to have those Fish and Chips and Afternoon Tea and doing the fight in UK, wouldn't any Canelo fan in US/Mexico be willing to buy a ticket for Canelo-Eubank Jr be willing to buy a ticket for Canelo-Scull too, anyway?

Meaningless trash fight if it happens. Eubank has no momentum and is coming up in weight. This is worse than the Berlanga fight.

It will sell out a stadium in the UK. Canelo is a legend in the UK for single handedly crumbling Eddys empire. Maybe he got a little help, but he is held in awe.
