Outside of Canelo Alvarez, Chris Eubank Junior needs to prioritize a World title fight 'Before taking fights vs Liam Smith III, and potentially Conor Benn'.
I was not impressed with Eubank Junior's last performance, yes he got the win and stoppage 'But I think he may be really struggling to make the 160 pound weight limit. That is what I sensed, all fight week'. I don't think his difficulties at 160 pounds are not due to lack of work ethic, because Chris Eubank Junior along with Anthony Joshua I would honestly rate those two fighters in UK boxing, for having the best documented Work ethics, among the current active top level fighters. Anthony Joshua is renowned for his near psychopathic work ethic, and Eubank Junior for many years has promoted himself as a fighter who was very passionate about training. The fighters life style'.
I have always maintained that Eubank Junior's lost to Liam Smith I 'Was due to him weight draining himself extensively, in his training camp prior to fighting Smith. The chronic effects of his training camp for the Conor Benn fight, had a carry over effect into his training camp for Smith I and the the performance on fight night'.
Note: Chris Eubank Junior throughout his career has fought in the both 160 and 168 pound divisions 'He began his professional career, at 160 pounds. And then moved up into the 168 pound divisions, where in my opinion? He was a extremely solid fighter, always put in a great effort win or lose in the Super Middle Weight Division'.
Since moving back down to 160 pound divisions, on a fight by fight basis 'I honestly think that, Eubank Junior form is not consistent. All the signs are there from my experience, that he is struggling to make the 160 pound division optimally'.
I think modern day professional fighters, need to be honest with themselves and decide whether? They want to train with the primary objective to win, or just to make the weight and go through the motions. Chris Eubank Junior is better than his last fight'.
I personally rate Chris Eubank Junior as a solid fighter, he has been a much better fighter than many of his critics would like to admit 'And even if you was to just check his resume, win or lose. You don't compete against all the fighters who Eubank Junior has fought, without being a solid fighter. Eubank Junior also has many underrated wins, and unlike Conor Benn? Eubank Junior fought in many big domestic level fights, and won. Before moving onto European and World level boxing events'.
I am not the only person to kind of make this observation with Eubank Junior at 160 pounds 'A few former professional boxers, have always made similar statements in the build up to his past fights at 160 pounds'.
One of Chris Eubank Junior best attribute's are his brute strength and endurance 'Sometimes those area's of his game, have been slightly off in some of his recent fights. Eubank Junior should of really been able to push for the stoppage vs Liam Williams, and as I have stated before? His lost against Liam Smith I, and how he reacted to Smith's punching power was very uncharacteristic. Eubank Junior has fought many fighters in his career, who were much stronger in terms of brute strength and had more power than Liam Smith. Eubank Junior was hurt badly by Smith's power in that fight, in my opinion because he was suffering from the chronic effects of weight draining himself extensively in his prior training camp for the Conor Benn fight'.
To conclude: So, a potential fight at 168 pounds against Canelo Alvarez for Chris Eubank Junior 'May actually be a good move. If Eubank Junior could last the distance vs Alvarez, then he would of proved that he is a much better fighter than many claim. Eubank Junior should try and fight for a World title within his next few fights, and then after is attempts to win a World title? He can then pursue fights vs Liam Smith III and Conor Benn'.
Chris Eubank Junior has not fought for over 1 year, so maybe his recent performance is a reflection of that 'It was not a bad performance, I just think that Eubank Junior ability his much better than what he showed' etc.

But I do agree that he should vacate belts if he's going to pick and choose because than it holds up a divisionEl_Mero likes this.

Mbilli?
The always dangerous Scull?
Every single fighter you mentioned represent twice what Canelo will make fighting Chris Eubank and they'd all drop their current opponent in a heart beat..... so lets not make believe Canelo is in search of a real opponents, he's not!Last edited by factsarenice; 10-31-2024, 10:07 AM.
