The situation is really interesting IMO. All great fighters lose, save for Floyd and Marciano. Floyd was more defensively minded and Marciano was a freak of nature. Apart from them, most every fighter seen as all timers lose fights during their career. The idea that a loss or a few losses ruin a career has ruined the sport and caused the neverending bringing up of "prospects", many of whom are coddled far too long in order to pad their records and build a myth around them.

Tim has the name, but he also has won some big fights and beaten some really good fighters, as well as some big punchers. Mur is a very good fighter, but their seemed to be something more going on mentally with Tim that night than anyone saw. He really did take incredibly ****** risks, he ignored his corner and he flat out made it a firefight. If he had landed the big shot first, Tim could have won. But he didn't.

He has looked completely composed and ring saavy in most all of his fights. Mendoza hits harder or as hard as Mur, of that I am pretty sure. After rewatching the fight over and over, just because it is such a mind boggling quick defeat, I really do think Tim went in there to not only impress his dad, but to show him that he was just as good. Or something. If you look at Mur's past fights, he always looks good, but this fight was so short because Tszyu just threw it all to chance and refused to box. If he had showed Mur the same respect he showed Mendoza, the fight is very different.

Tim got absolutely whipped because of whatever was going on. It gives his detractors a great way to say "see Tim sucks". But he doesn't, he just fought incredibly ****** from the get.

Can he recover and still win big fights? We will see.

He lost twice in a row. The first was a cut that was enough to stop the fight smartly, but nobody stopped it. The second he looked like a mindless robot, especially after the first kd. So there are reasons but also its becoming a pattern now.

Dose Tszyu get his groove back? I hope so. The earlier poster said all fighters go after that light. No they dont. If they want big fights its only to get rich, not to prove who is best for less. Tszyu going for smoke is good for boxing and makes a lot of others look like scared little girls, even if he lost twice.

But the fact is, if all the top fighters faced each other, half of them would have losses and some in a row. And if a mix of the winners and losers fought, even more would have losses. I'd rather that than have a bunch of fighters protecting their zero's facing non-competitive fights.

Look i hear what you are saying dont agree but i hear ya, the thing that often makes people stomp on a fighter is this constant hype this constant twisting of the truth about a particular fighter then all that gets exposed inside the ring. A guy like Zoo who part of his move up the latter was his Name (fathers) and they are still using his lack of skills as what makes him such a good fighter, there are limits to being willing to get your head stomped. he did it, he got in the ring Yea and he got the prize money too.......

Tim needs to see the world. Stay in America for a while, or Russia. Australia is too affluent with his connections. Hard scrabble Russia might be better for him. Just speculating, it might be too late.

Tim can rebuild, he’s got wins over Harrison and Mendoza, both solid wins. He should aim for Madrimov. He’s in a stacked division and needs to come back carefully. A 3rd straight loss would have him contemplating retirement

Everyone gets exposed according to boxing fans. He is willing to fight anyone. Unlike the "protect the zero at all costs" club. He has also stomped on some heads too. His record shows that. In his own best interest he should fight a winnable fight to see how he performs and take it from there. At least he gives it his all and is exciting.

Personally, I’ve never understood the hoopla and hype surrounding Tim Tszyu. Don’t get me wrong. He is a very nice, sweet and humble kid but he’s very average at best.

However, outside of his famous last name; He is nowhere near as good or fights anything like his father Kostya. Who was also the more technical and scientific of the two.
