  • Comments Thread For: Tim Tszyu, and how the show will go on

It was tempting, when witnessing the crushed and concussed Tim Tszyu speak at the press conference that followed his stoppage defeat by Bakhram Murtazaliev, to wonder if the bubble that had grown around the golden boy of Australian boxing had burst.

What did they saw awarded or rewarded there is a difference in the two, all this talk about Zoo taking on the biggest challenges dont mean a lot when you come up as short as he has in the past two fights. Stop trying to sell Zoo as someone special bc he likes to get high profile fights all fighters go towards that light. Zoo is always mentioned not just of himself but his father why ? Bc it is a selling point a name req but dont try to hide that fact and cover it up with all that Zoo wants blah blah blah, he gets paid well for these match ups dont he ? He needs to develop skills at this stage of his fight life. That is why you take on certain fighters reguardless of how anyone reacts ............It is not a cop out to go towards a little less money and to develop a fighter Zoo is not complete as a fighter no fighter is but not all fighters get schooled the way he has, or given opportunities that he has.........

I'll watch his next fight if only to see what's left.
it's not inconceivable he can bounce back.

He is one of those boxing stars that had his father's fame but he was willing to step it up. We need more guys like him instead of this marinating stuff or if the money makes sense type of fighters we have today.

I see no shame in losing by stepping it up and I don't remember too many saying that he is a great fighter.

Definitely. He was all about that smoke. We all complain about fighters not fighting each other and then criticize them and call them "bums" when they lose. I liked his father as a fighter and was ambivalent to him but I respected him for going after tough fights...

But the fact is, if all the top fighters faced each other, half of them would have losses and some in a row. And if a mix of the winners and losers fought, even more would have losses. I'd rather that than have a bunch of fighters protecting their zero's facing non-competitive fights.

Not every fighter can be the "best.” Every fighter loses some time or another. When it comes to boxing, I just want to see entertaining, competitive fights.

Yup, haters just get on a fighter when they loose or don't have a good showing. There are great fighters that also loose when they go up in weight and then get too much flak for it. I do not see any shame in loosing when the fighter is step it up. At least they are daring to be great and the benefits for it will get them paid more if they win.
