Thought he might be motivated since he got another chance to fight before a possible jail sentence. I was wrong. This young 19 year old sounds like he is level headed & he is a big dude for 19. I guess we shall see if McKean is a level above this kid or not. Sounds like a big step up but after how badly Dubois smashed Hrgovic I not sure how good McKean is.
I read that too. I'm always skeptical about anything that comes out of a promoter's mouth especially when it comes to accountability and who is to blame.

I agree that there is a difference between the level of Bakole and that of McKean.

It’s always difficult to tell with any prospect until they’re out in against someone with a bit of durability who can punch back. I do get a very different vibe about Itauma though. Watched a good few streams about him as see small flashes of something special about him. I’d guess the big unknown with anyone knocking over people early is stamina. What happens when someone takes him into the later rounds? will he fall apart like Matty Harris did or will he take it in his stride. Big names he’s sparred speak very highly of him too and that’s always a good sign - similar to Benevidez.

Things that do stand out however are his footwork, timing and speed. He’s got very very fast hands for a heavyweight and at 19 he’s not yet punching anywhere near as hard as he will be by his mid to late 20’s. His feet are equally as fast and he’s light on his feet to the extent for a big guy he moves like a light heavy. Similar to Bivol footwork wise although not as relaxed. Very good reactions only to be expected for his age and again hard to judge until he fights someone who can fight back a little who will actually test his ring smarts as opposed to go on the run the second he starts landing.

Anyone fully understanding what they’re watching knows this guys is a serious talent. Put money on him wiping the floor with Fisher. Completely different level already. Will be very interesting to watch his career develop.

McKean is more like a Charles Martin-Anderson than Bokole-Anderson. Nowhere near a Bokole level of danger for young Itauma, he might have a moment of danger against Mckean, like Anderson had with Martin, but he should get through the fight with a win.

Really? What has either of them ever done to make you think that?

To risky fight for Anderson in situation when he needs to rebuild him self. Itauma power is to much for Anderson.
Just my opinion. Maybee I am wrong.

Boxrec ranks Anderson # 17 now, which is about right, IMO.
The Ring Magazine, jumping the gun; had him right up in their TOP 10, prior to the fateful Bakole fight (!).
Moses Itauma is ranked # 61 at present, and McKean is unranked at BoxRec, as he has been inactive for > 12 months; but was was never top 20 there.

McKean is a step up for Itauma and a considerable one too; but even if Itauma blows McKean away with ease, it still doesn't advance him up to where Anderson is presently.

I, for one; got cheated out of Wilder scoring a 1-punch knockout over Joshua to rank order the outgoing era - So I'd love to see Anderson vs Itauma in the next.

              Lets find out who’s fake.

.....Or he's just learning. I'll give him another loss or two before I write him off.
