Not a huge deal if fighters fight at least three times a year. If you have 3 belts how can you even defend each if you're only fighting once a year?

I just said they're all trash but ibf better than wbc and wba. There is no way anyone can say wba and wbc are not the bottom. Multiple belts automatically makes them bottom 2. Add that with the rest of the corruption.

inactivity and random matchmaking are the biggest problems.
whoever wants to have 2+ belts can't fight only once a year. 1 fight per year means only 1 belt and only fight mandatories (like gary russell). any mandatory shouldn't have to wait for more than a year, year and a half if there was an injury. any champion can do the right thing and VACATE while he is injured or he doesn't want to fight his mandatory (like cordina and jack). anybody can just win a belt and vacate it if they don't intend to meet mandatory obligations and fight other champions or whoever they want (like hamed). 3 belts mean at least 2 fights/year and only mandatories. 4 belts mean at least 3 fight/year. like you see, nobody is doing that. that's why not only ibf should strip their champions but every other body should too. being the best 2 or more years ago doesn't guarantee somebody is still the best now. he has to prove it EVERY year.

last ibf mandatory fight at heavyweight when usyk - fury ended was 4 years ago. wba's mandatory fight had to wait 5 years. now wbo's mandatory fight will wait 4 years too if usyk/fury doesn't vacate it after december. that's too long! i wanted usyk to vacate 3 belts and only keep wba since he defended it last year. ibf, usyk and fury had a deal that let them unify 4 belts but their mandatory must be next and then they broke the deal. it doesn't matter what's the reason. he was rightly stripped.

at cruiserweight we have jai opetaia. he didn't have a mandatory until everybody but mairis refused so ibf appointed him. since mairis was injured for a december fight last year (which was offered) and would be ready for february (2 month wait is nothing), i don't blame jai for fighting in december for good money at all. but why fight irrelevant zorro? after defeating his mandatory, jai was free to fight anybody ranked. billam smith and zurdo didn't want to fight and mikaelyan has other problems (mainly don king). so unifications were not possible for october date. but why fight irrelevant massey? cinkara won his eliminator 6 months prior. dorticos (wba mandatory) and rozicki (wbc mandatory) would probably fight for the lineal title too. yeah cinkara isn't great but massey was irrelevant AND he wasn't a mandatory. opetaia has more time and wont be promptly stripped but please no more zorro and massey fights.

at light heavyweight artur fought wbc mandatories 2 times in last 3 years and ibf mandatories 0 times. that's no rotation. at some point they have to say enough is enough. i blame bivol for this too. after his mandatory vs. zurdo he had a year and a half (which then became two years) to fight voluntaries not named artur beterbiev. instead of helping artur with some of his mandatories (artur had 3 and bivol had 0), he fought unworthy arthur and zinad. i wanted bivol - eifert for a year. but instead we have this random s t u p i d matchmaking. anyway beterbiev should just retire or fight opetaia to become 2 divison lineal champion. there's nothing else to prove at 40. he should already be retired.

at super middleweight ibf waited for 3,5 years for their turn. again too long. while holding their belt (all 4), canelo fought 3 voluntaries and wbo #1 two times. disgraceful. wbc, wba and ibf should have all stripped him 1,5 years ago.

at welterweight crowley (top 5 universally) was ennis' mandatory but the fight fell apart. very disappointing. ibf ordered their eliminator for the next mandatory and only karen and scarrf in their top10 accepted. scarrf defeated ekow essuman (#2 at the time). what did all of you expect? ibf to do nothing and have no mandatories indefinitely?! karen and scarrf to decline too because you don't like them or don't know them?! don't blame those 3 for doing their job. blame crowley and others who declined this opportunity.

This post requires actually THINKING about rankings and mandatory defenses, which is beyond the ability of most posters. They would rather just say "blah blah blah IBF sux" etc meanwhile the WBC lets $$$ fighters sit on titles for years and years and years without a mando and the WBA has like 3 or 4 champions per division lol

one can only conclude, from this legacy of total BS, is that the rankings are for sale one, ones promotion simply needs to hand someone a bag of cash to purchase this access to the rankings. there can be no other explanation for something this shady, and, the correct response is to just disband this useless alphabet situation and move to something less corrupt.
