I don’t think that makes sense when Bob Arum is Beterbievs promoter.

Doesn’t make sense for them to wait another year.

It's Hearn, 100%. His fighters are losing left and right and he knows Bivol get KO'd if he fights any other way or gets even a little more aggressive. So Hearn is working with Turki to put it off, in hopes that Biev will get old or have another injury, thus giving Bivol a shot.

It might work. I saw a bit of age on Biev. Rehabbing from knee stuff is always bad news. Had he been a bit more spry and agile he'd have almost certainly stopped Bivol. He will lose more and more movement as months and years go by. Hell he is 40, he has to he thinking about retirement.

He really has nothing to prove at this point.

At 40 and as an active pro athlete, his knee will only maintain or get worse. He won't gain mobility at his age and the fact that he trains so much and so hard means he could likely injure it again.

No chance Arum or Biev wants to wait a year or more. Hearn and Turki are on Bivol's side.

The rematch should happen in December or January. Hearn knows that it is the same outcome, but with a smaller margin of error for Bivol this time. Biev knows what to expect and if the fight had gone another round or two Bivol would have been hurt and dropped. Biev will fight more aggressively in a rematch.

Long wait only helps Bivol.

I must say I was shocked at how good Beterbiev looked in championship rounds. As many people observed, he looked like he could easily go 15 rounds which probably means he is staying in shape between the fights. That also means he could be in good shape next year also (discounting any possible injuries). The people who get old overnight are people who do not stay in the gym between fights and pile on the kilos. They fight once per year because they have made too much money so getting up for every new fight is basically coming out of de facto retirement. After a few lengthy breaks like that, they "suddenly get old" in the ring. Based on what we saw the other day, I think Beterbiev will be OK even if they have to wait for another 12 months.

Not sure what you're trying to indicate by bolding my (misspelled) last name here. As for your other points: The United States government is indeed deserving of criticism for a lot of things they do. And when the American government begins to finance boxing matches with no intention of making a profit, we can tie that into our boxing reporting.

Aside from an injury - I have NEVER heard of a rematch being scheduled for a whole year later!! That is ridiculous.

I agree the risk of injuries is increasing with age, but if he was in any kind of pain the other day, I could not see it. His mobility was fine. He was chasing Bivol the last 3 rounds without any problems.

Beterbiev lives a very clean life. Don't smoke,drink,eats correctly so he's always gonna be in good shape but at 40 with a string of injuries that's he picked up in training camps over the years I can't see him having the agility to pull of another win especially in a years time. He won by the skin of his teeth last time
