45 is ancient by any measure!!
However; we should consider that some of those Cuban fighters turn pro very late and he was one of those. He went 349-19 as an amateur and was a top Cuban heavyweight; and didn't peak as a pro until 2018.
Although Wilder destroyed him twice, he was the 10th best heavyweight of the 2015 - 2025 era and remains number 15 in the world after smashing up Charles Martin and fighting to a standstill against Andy Ruiz.
With his power, it's STILL not out of the question that he catches some of the contenders ranked above him, I suppose.
