I was watching the fight where Shishkin consistently landed more effective punches and Scull spent most of the fight getting backed into the ropes and eating jabs, then spent the entire 12th round shamefully hiding behind the ref and stalling for time to avoid a KO.

You don't have to have a knockdown to score a 10-8 round if one guy completely dominates the action. That's what happened in the 12th. Shishkin was fighting, Scull was running for his life.

Well, If Scull didn't look good, I think we have found Canelo's next fight! It's the "revenge for taking my belt" angle!

No, you do need a least an 8 count. One round doesn't make up for the previous eleven.

An 8 count? There is no standing 8 count in professional boxing. They took that out in the 1990s. Learn the rules of the damn sport.

You can absolutely score a 10-8 round without a knockdown if one fighter is hurt badly in a round and does nothing offensively. And that's what happened in the 12th round.

Didn't have a dog in the race but the fight was a chore.

So he wasn't helplessly against the ropes? That's why I ask you if the guy was knock down. Because I didn't see him hanging off the ropes.

I know the rules. I have been sarcastic. You guys see a robbery every time you fighter doesn't win. Stop with the BS, actually is was a good thing he was fighting a technician because if he was fighting Morrell Jr or benavidez, he would have end it up on a stretcher. In any case, I don't care either way and I don't think neither of them can hold on to the belt for long.
