Stick a fork in Colbert; losing to Salcido and coming in at above the 130 he claimed he would be at is the last nail for him as a contender. He was sprinting more and more as the fight went on and it was an embarrassing showing because of that as well. It's like he was running from a vicious monster.

Paulie said it well late in the fight, whenever Salcido gave Colbert an opening, Colbert was looking to take breaks when he should've been attacking. Anyways the more I think about it the more I think I/we just witnessed one of the worst examples of ring generalship. I don't think at any point Salcido had to adjust his game plan, he was able to first close the distance in round 1, then trap Colbert on the ropes and corners, meanwhile the entire time that left hook to the body was money.CPNUTKnockoutFreshMart likes this.

Why do these writers keep mentioning the word upset in fights that are not upsets? Colbert was overhyped and was the typical African American that runs, hugs and bores, relying on athleticism and cowardice instead of fighting. Colbert os American so he had more media exposure as opposed to Salido but that doesnīt mean itīs an upset. Writers and commentators need to do their home work. The broadcast commentators like Chris Algieri, totally biased in favor of Colbert until it was obvious the latter was just trying to survive. Just like when And Ruiz beat Joshua, the casuals, and commentators said it was a huge upset when it wasnīt. Ruiz had already fought for a chamipionship and was robbed but Joshua was the overhyped black Brit.
