Of course Bridgerweight hasn't taken off...they called it BRIDGERWEIGHT.....the weight class name doesn't even sound like it respects itself..."it's a bridge to the weight that people care about" ...I don't want to be called the "bridgerweight champion of the world!"....Should have simply done Heavyweight and Super Heaveyweight if separating sizes is the issue.

Heavyweight still has the history and still sounds important
Super Heavyweight has attraction written all over it which sells

That's like creating the "palladium medal" for the olympics to have more medalist...who wants that?

Took the words out of mouth but i think people want to see Wilder get folded again. Kinda sad but I think we will see Wilder get knocked out one more time before he fully retires.

I don't care for the division. It's more so about seeing Wilder in a more comfortable weight and seeing how he performs. Regardless of whether or not we like the division, seeing him possibly holding up a belt means something. It'll give him some momentum.

            Dear Deontay,

Hi Champ... No more head from Telli b4 fights. It's making your legs too skinny and your chin too weak.

            Best Regards,

              bridgerweight is NOT needed.

are you 220 pounds or under? congratulations you can be a cruiserweight.

Are you 228 pounds with 8 pounds of flab? congratulations you can still be a cruiserweight.

Are you 240 pounds who wants to dehydrate down to bridgerweight ? NO you are the same size as AJ and all the "big" heavyweights. youre a heavyweight not a "bridgerweight"

If 140 pound fighters are all rehydrating to 155-160 pounds, for ***s sake a 225 pound man can figure out how to get to cruiserweight weigh ins.

And Usyk is contemplating moving back down to Cruiser after the Fury rematch. Who knows, maybe Wilder can entice Usyk to fight him at Bridger if he wins the championship.

wilder has fought at 213-214 pounds fully hydrated for the last 2 years. He in no case shape or form is an argument for the need of a "bridgerweight" when he can EASILY make cruiserweight.

do you realize Anthony Joshua who was 237 pounds against Ruiz and 240 pounds for Usyk, a supposed "big" heavyweight, could actually easily make the 224 pound bridgerweight limit? so then what is the point of having it to protect the small guys when the big guys can just dehydrate down to it?

Terrible take, You really think people like Povetkin who was pretty much 223 his entire career or Parker who's been as low as 219 would make 200- pounds and still be healthy and strong.

You literally aren't even accounting for body composition, muscle mass, height anything you're completely basing it on the ability of one person to lose weight to another which is fallacious as hell.

a 228 man who's broad and muscular isn't the same as a 228 man who's a bean pole and doesn't have a lick of muscle on them.

In both of these cases it would be extremely hard to lose weight as cutting into muscle will ruin you à la RJJ or in the case of the bean pole there really isn't nothing to lose...

Even myself I could get down to 200 from 234 (6'5) but I'd feel like a breeze of wind would blow me over and would be constantly lethargic also I'd look like drawn out or like I was an addict...

On top of that I'd be making a weight I haven't been in like 16 years, same applies to most heavyweights.

You're literally asking them to make a weight they've likely not seen since they were in their mid-late teens...

How many more chances is Wilder going to get? Are the promoters that desperate to see a highlight reel KO that they're going to keep rolling the dice on Wilder in the hope he can give them 10 seconds of euphoria?

Just make him fight someone like the first 40 plus opponents he faced. Maybe he will finally get lucky ......
