Bareknuckle is entertaining but its never going to get as big as boxing and MMA. The skillset is too close to actual boxing, which means its only ever gonna attract guys who werent good enough to box at a high level. The fact that its a sport that countless boxers, kickboxers and MMA fighters could stroll into with minimal specialised training for it and instantly dominate will always hold it back.

It is fun to watch though. Tons of quick finishes etc. The presentation of BKFC reminds me a lot of 00s UFC before they cleaned up the image.

bare knuck’s chances come from fighters from other striking arts then

Fighters who don’t want to deal with grappling

Bare knuckle is too damaging (lacerations, broken hands super common) . Guys are gonna spend more time recovering from injuries than actually fighting.

MMA and bare knuckle attract plebs who think they're watching a fight rather than a sport.

I still believe their growth will eventually signal the death of combat sports.

It's hard to see boxing doing anything but sliding further into irrelevancy due to poor quality control.

BKFC puts on cards - damn near every fight is exciting.
UFC puts on cards - most fights are exciting.
Boxing puts on cards - every support fight is certainly going to be garbage. the main event is also usually garbage.

Bivol’s friend Madrimov VS the crazy Ukrainian as undercard for Usyk-Fury 2

the undercard sold the PPV to me

This. its a brutal sport, maybe the most brutal sport of any. The only guys that do it seem to be past prime boxers and other randoms. I dont see many guys doing this for 10 year careers and with short durations then they dont really build up stars
