As someone who has previously stated his belief that Whittaker is the real deal, it very much does look like he found an easy way out but either way this is a make or break moment for Ben Quittaker.

Still no news from Ben Whittaker about the details of his supposed injury. Meanwhile Frazer Clarke has already had successful surgery.

I was very high on Whittaker, but it’s clear now he has to make some major adjustments or go down a weight class. He just doesn’t hit hard enough. You don’t have to have KO power, but you 100 percent have to hit hard enough to keep guys off you and respect you. Whittaker’s style is too inefficient to keep up under pressure for 12 rounds. Constant anaerobic bursts while moving backwards and in every direction. Absolutely exhausting. You gotta be able to crack hard enough to get guys to f**k off and give you some rest.

We always knew Whittakers lack of power would be a problem, but what was worrying in this fight was his lack of defence and evasiveness.

Some greats have lacked power like Floyd and Bivol, but they make up for that but being supremely skilled and hard to hit.

Ben needs to stop thinking about himself as some great offensive boxer and become a counter puncher. Hit and not get hit.
real raw real raw likes this.

This. Cameron wouldn’t miss him after the first 2 rounds when Whittaker started to gas, which is worrying in itself. No power, no stamina and he couldn’t slip a shot. You can maybe get away with 1 of those things, but all 3 and you’re in trouble. Those body shots really bothered him as well.

Questions were being asked and Ben was having less answers , I saw it as a convenient exit , I hope I'm wrong. There should be an immediate rematch .

I saw afew minutes of him afew fights back , switched the Tv over and simply another one on the hype train to no never never land .
my guess is the Saudis will throw him a bone but insist on either he re matches Cameron or is tested by a very capable fighter .

I'd like to see Simpson in with Mark Jeffers next!

We will never know, but there definitely needs to be a rematch anyway. If things had carried on down the path they seemed to be going it looked like the next 5 rounds were going to get increasingly rough for him.
