No announcement yet.
A LOT of people don’t know how to score fights.

Bivol landed the flashier shots but Beterbiev landed the heavier shots. I think that’s were the dissension comes from._Rexy_

Beterbiev won his rounds by more and hit harder but in the ten point must system I HAD BIVOL WIN more rounds hence the fight. I am a CANADIAN and like both fighters but what I saw was Bivols gameplan and effort look like the winning one. He took the rounds off he needed to and its not like its easy to lose 10-8 unless you get dropped. He stood his ground when he needed to. Threw longer combos than Artur. The scores should have been reversed from watching on my tv. I was not ringside looking up so maybe it looked different to the judges.
Some people saying Artur hit gloves all night, some say he landed. If he landed so much and hits so hard then it still didn’t drain Bivol enough over twelve. He went to the body only a couple times. I think a draw was as close as I could possibly hope for Beterbiev to get from what I saw. It wasn’t a 15 round fight. Don’t start slow.
Artur needed to at least rock or wobble Bivol to prove he was doing that much more damage. He didn’t. He didn’t feel safe to put a bunch of punches together vs a fresh Bivol either.
Close fight, but wrong guy won as far as what I saw.

I can maybe see a draw but suggesting this was a robbery is lunacy.
I don't feel Beterbiev was controlling the action a lot of the time, that's why most his moments of momentum were quite sporadic throughout the fight. He couldn't build anywhere near the momentum he usually does because Bivol landed quire a lot on him, threw less but landed more and much higher %. I can understand why some would say Beterbiev was controlling the tempo, but I still feel Bivol landed the better work in more rounds than Beterbiev did.
for that reason I struggle to find more than 5 rounds for him. I thought Bivol took 7 rounds.
it was super competitive though and needs a rematch, both of them are superb really. The only one that can beat them is each other. The gulf between them and the next best in the division is massive.
People's opinions are gonna differ, the majority of people in boxing seem to feel Bivol nicked it. It's only right to let him have another shot.
I don't think it was the right result but it is the result, so let's see it again.Last edited by deathofaclown; 10-13-2024, 12:57 AM.

He was consistently piercing the guard too, you only have to look at Bivol’s face, even if they were deflecting of gloves they were still causing damage.
I think a lot of people fell into the trap of choosing style over substance. Bivol was landing flashy combinations but he was on his bike for the majority of rounds.
I feel the right man won but I’m definitely up for a rematch.
