'Whitaker gets shellacked by anyone hovering around the top ten, hell, maybe top twenty.'

He is barely in the top 10 in the UK! Seriously, I fancy Yarde, Buatsi, Arthur, Azeez, Hutchison, Richards & now Cameron can beat him. Shakan Pitters maybe & I could probably find 2 more.

'Seems like Josh Kelly in that he looks good in flashes but doesn’t appear to carry a lot of power now he’s fighting someone more durable'.

Whittaker does, at least, have a left jab & Whittaker is young enough to change which he desperately needs to. Kelly is 31 & probably too late to change a ring life of flash without substance. I don't blame him, but I think RJJ ruined the careers of so many young fighters by making them think that is how you fight, without realising how you need to have mastered the fundamental skills before you can ignore them & start free styling like Roy. It is like a pianist deciding he'll play like Tatum when he hasn't mastered his scales & arpeggios.

        100%.

RJJ and Naz, they’re impossible to mimic or recreate. It’s like a kid deciding they’re gonna be the next Messi or Maradona. It’s impossible, that ability is truly got given, and once a lifetime maybe not even once a generation.

Whitaker didn’t even attempt to get back up. He wanted out. He’ll badly struggle at Euro level.

I uses to see Whittaker and Josh Kelly get compared to Naz but I always said on here that the difference was Naz did actually have fundamentals when he wanted or needed.

In the Kevin Kelley fight his flashy style was getting him dropped and then he actually got behind the jab a bit more, settled himself down, was a bit more careful and got the job done. It was still a bit flashy, but he reigned it in a bit after a couple of rounds and showed good adjustments to win. Yeah he lost a decision to Barrera but there's no shame in that.

That's the big difference. When the likes of Josh Kelly or Whittaker aren't having success with their circus show, what have they got to fall back on? With Whittaker, seemingly not much at all.

Josh Kelly isn't as bad, he's a very solid domestic level fighter, just not world class.

Yeah, Naz could definitely box. I don't completely agree tho as Barrera exposed him and he didn't try and box him... Kelley was being just as wild, so Naz settling down meant he was waiting for openings but still looking for big KO shots.

Naz had outrageous power, like P4P all-time one punch KO power. And from crazy angles. That is what allowed him to do his ****, coz he was truly one of a kind, it can't be replicated. It's impossible.

So they fighters like Kelly and Whittaker, without the power, top fighters will put it on them and they wilt. Naz and RJJ had everyone scared to march them down... Coz they'd get sparked.
