Comments Thread For: Next for Beterbiev after Bivol? Assistant trainer wants Canelo or Benavidez but thinks Canelo's too small

Canelo Alvarez has already fought two light heavyweights. Artur Beterbiev's assistant trainer is hoping the current super middleweight champ steps up to 175 once more -- though he also recognizes the size difference between the two men might prevent that from happening.

If he wins it should be the winner of the David Benavidez vs David Morrell fight. The same for Bivol if he wins.

Why ask what's next when Bivol is next, the biggest light heavyweight fight of the century.

      Just be in the moment.

Agreed, and Canelo ain't fighting anyone who can (and most likely would) hand him his first KO loss. Especially at 175 where the effect could be significantly worse.

I want him to win but thats not going to happen. Bivol is too good for the old man and his knees.

I'm trying to savor what we're about to watch. Not just this weekend but then we have Benavidez vs Morrell and this four way triangle and of course Canelo trying to horn in like he belongs in that battle of the best. This guy hit the nail on the head with everything he said.

The literal irony of calling a dude small who beat a 175 guy for a belt is amazing. Canelo seems to be only too small when he loses. Otherwise the guy was going up to heavyweight remember? Then all of a sudden when he loses he's too small. GTFO with this crap. Canelo just isn't good enough, period. This is why he's fighting the worst possible fights. He can't win the good ones.

If he wins i would advise him to retire on top and be like Calazage if not I think he will end up like Kovalev. If he can beat Bivol......
