Why is Hitchins being forced on us, man clearly got a gift decision against Lemos and is ****e to watch.
And why Puerto Rico, surely they could make a better card in Brisbane that would make more money….. make this make sense

As others have said, the location this fight is held just doesn't make sense at all...I mean, when talking about cards where it is held in a location where the main card Tank-Roach being in Houston was also a mystery but at the least it is in the same country as the two fighters if it means anything.

Another case of two foreign fighters fighting in a totally unrelated location I can think of would be Olascuaga-Gonzalez for the title and Casimero-Sanchez as a main card, both next week in Japan. However in the case of Olascuaga he's an undercard of a huge boxing event with 7 title fights, plus it also helps to be fighting in the country that essentially has all the lower weight money opponents. For Casimero, there's a fair amount of Filipino in Japan plus the time zone is not too far, plus by fighting in Japan he's desperately trying to get Inoue's attention (whether it works being aside), but Puerto Rico isn't even located on the same Ocean as Australia with opposite time zones. Heck it would make more sense if he was thrown in some undercard in UK or US more than Puerto Rico if considering money.

In all seriousness, I wonder if this is a way to call out Matias after winning on his turf not once but twice to bring him over to Australia for a rematch or something next year? Rub it in, get the rematch to be set for Australia along with Tszyu and Kambosos and such.

I have just read the following on another site

"IBF light welterweight champion Liam Paro says Devin Haney asked for “silly money” and “wasn’t serious” in their failed attempts to negotiate a fight recently. The unbeaten Paro (25-0, 15 KOs) says he gave up on trying to put a fight together because of Haney’s money expectations.

.. which explains why he is is fighting Hitchins but does not explain why he is doing it in Puert Rico. As per my previous post, Devin will really struggle as he believes that he is "the face of boxing" and deserves mega purses.
