Only few weeks from now it would be eclipsed with bigger, controversial news till it's totally forgotten. It's akin to CNN reporting the war in Ukraine, then a few weeks later they're into the Oscar awards or a celebrity passing away cover it 24/7.
I have no clue about the breach of contract aspect, but the PEDs issue is certainly complicated. They have to summon the commission and explain why they let the fight happen when they found illegal substance in Garcia's body.

Crazy thing, I actually agree with Oscar...
I think Devin is a shot fighter.

Flashbacks of AJ after his first KO loss to Ruiz coming back.
AJ was never the same again.

I suspect the same thing will happen with the Haney lawsuit: everyone will be laughing away and dismissing it until one day you suddenly see Garcia walking into a courtroom.
So why don't they just settle it like Fury and Wilder did.
        In the ring. Huh?

Haney is too young to become Jermall Charlo who started taking 2 years layoff in his early 30s.
He's only 25 and at an age where most are just starting out at that age.

The good guy always wins? Good guys with a lot of money. Haney has the burden of proof and a bunch of hostile witnesses. Ryan will come out better for the notoriety.

Garcia paid Haney for being overweight. Haney took the money and agreed to the fight. Garcia was completely surprised his test came back positive. He has never been positive in his career. But he accepted the punishments they gave him because he had no way to fight that his drink had been spiked. The spiking of a drink he consumed was without his knowledge. They can't prove otherwise. As small amount that was found meant this was probably the only time. He did the honorable thing and accepted the fine etc. I think Haney is a frivolous litigant. Who can he expect to ever fight that when he loses, he calls a lawyer. I think this is Haney's last song.

He fought Kambosos twice and he would have been paid very well because any world title fight in Australia in big news and makes good money. Lomachenko still has a name so that would have helped with ticket sales as well. Ryan Garcia is a social medial star and that generated ticket sales and ppv buys. On his own Haney is a boring fighter with no real following. People are not breaking their legs running to buy his fights.

So what does he do now? Any fight that he is offered, he rejects because it does not come close to his last purse. In his mind he is a mega star and deserves big bucks. Unfortunately other that fighting Garcia again, nobody will pay him anything close to those type of earnings. The longer he hesitates going back into the ring for a stay busy fight, the more he will be in danger looking like a retired fighter and then Oscar De La Hoya will be right. He will be perceived as a shot fighter who is scared to get back in the ring with the big boys because he got beat up last time around. I don't think he is shot, but if he stays on the shelf for too long the road back will be very difficult.
Very well said! What he needs to understand is the lawsuit really affirms this. He really made a mistake here. I have a feeling, a su****ion he may not be able to fight anymore. I hope I'm wrong. Garcia may have wrecked him. Champion would never recover!!

Mark Hunt filed the same type of lawsuit in 2017. The judge only dismissed it last year.

Good luck expecting a quick passage through the courts and a fast settlement.

Chances are the case gets tossed after years of to ing and fro ing.

I'm waiting for Oscar to sue Fernando Vargas and GGG to sue Canelo. Haney is commiting career suicide. What did Cotto do when Margaritto cheated, he had a rematch and kicked his A$$.

Its not frivolous, Oscar. Devin is going to win. And its going to hurt you in your panties. Its going to pinch you in your high heels. And t's going to snag you in your fish net stocking. Its going to punch you in your fish scale nose and make you cry.
