Wow , this guy has really been through a lot. Having his father murdered is enough grief to last ten lifetimes , now,his girlfriend is kidnapped and detained in a Russian prison , for making a donation to a charity . What a freaking nightmare.
People who support ***** , this is what you support . A thug holding a country hostage.
Best of luck to Mr. Van Heerden in getting his girlfriend released and in dealing with the death of his father.

I remember seeing Karelina's arrest on the news when it occurred, Russian-born, naturalized US citizen ballerina arrested for $50 donation to a Ukrainian charity. Had no idea she was Can Heerden's girlfriend.

Incredibly sad and I hope that she can gain freedom soon.

I think he's retired. If I'm not mistaken, the "fight" he's in is to get his girlfriend released from Russian custody. Maybe I missed the part where he's returning to the ring....

Maybe he can talk to Roy Jones and get some strings pulled since both are boxers and Roy is a Russian citizen as well, I think he still is unless that changed.
