**** he'll be 40 by the time he tries to be undisputed. And him at 154 at age 40. Tall task to unify let alone Undisputed.
Not going to happen.

Bud isn't getting a Canelo fight, certainly not at the money Canelo wants, which doesn't leave much for Bud, unless he can bring more to the table. If he can't get that money fight, going for the only boxer in history to achieve 3 division undisputed is a reasonable legacy fight. If he manages it, only Inoue would have any chance to match or eclipse it, and that would be extremely difficult as Inoue looks to be the smaller man already at 122. Although very few fighters can claim to have fully cleaned out two divisions.

First of all, I do not buy this "chasing Canelo for a retirement check" silliness people keep tossing around. Crawford has lived and fought in freaking Nebraska his entire life. (Ok, I exaggerate. He has fought outside his home state quite a bit lately. Work with me here, keyboard warriors.) One of the reasons he is so good in the ring is he is freaking intelligent in there. He is calm and adjusts with a killer instinct. Do people really think he has approached something as vitally important as his personal finances any other way? He has made multiple tens of millions of dollars, lives in a state with one of the lowest cost to live, and people think he needs MONEY? Nah, his great grandchildren will get the benefits of the Spence fight alone. I am sure Crawford would take the money for a Canelo fight with a grin, but needs it? Silly to argue that.
Secondly, has anyone seen a boxer at ease in his own skin as much as Crawford? He was saying out loud to everyone for years he did not care if he fought Spence as he was sure he was already a P4P great and first ballot Hall of Famer. He ain't chasing Canelo for ego. Again, he may take the challenge because of who he is as a boxer, but he is not worried about his legacy either.
I just do not know what Crawford wants, and probably only a few people honestly do. But if they asked for an extension to work out a fight, I will believe they are trying to work out a fight. I did not think this would happen, but it is not a bad fight. It is interesting. As Crawford does fight at least once a year, why not? What else works out before December that brings a better return for Crawford?kjeeze941 likes this.
