I mean, you don't care now, why would you when he retires ?
What other fighter do you plan on dissecting ?
Have you ever dissected a fighter's resume (not named Nelo) before ?
Clearly you, like most ''fight'' fans, give boogeymen a pass

If anything I probably b!tch about Tank and his farce of boxing title that his fans claim way more than every other boxer mentioned above combined including Canelo.BodyBagz likes this.

We will miss Nelo when he's gone.
I will be curious who will be the next face.
Probably won't be a boogeyman

Not sure I would miss Canelo but I will be bummed that he retired without providing a truly wanted match post-Bivol, and that he stagnated a division for 5+ years (by the time he retires). As for the face of boxing, frankly with the popularity of boxing going down how it is the sport probably won't have a face the casuals will recognize...I mean even Canelo is mostly Mexico/US backed but outside that is not known to non-boxing fans. Ask my non-boxing fan sister who is the most recent famous non-Japanese boxer name she knows and her knowledge probably stops at Mayweather (if it even gets past Mike Tyson which I'm not 100% confident). I can guarantee she's never heard of Canelo, this isn't an era where boxing celebrities are known to non-fans. She knows Inoue's name only because the local Japanese news covers it but she won't recognize him if he sits next to her on the train.

In fact as a lower weight fan until he fought Bam I was probably the loudest b!tcher regarding Estrada and his stagnation of 115 unifications he was causing, quite symbolic that now that he's a goner from the picture the first 115 unification in years occurred. Oh and I make sure to remind the criminal existance of Ray Vargas until he's stripped or loses (which he should've lost his fight against Ball anyway).

I'm sure he wants that Biv rematch more than any other fight and is just biding his time until it's possible.
Nelo did more with his career than GGG did, and yet, if you ask so called unbiased fight fans, GGG will be more respected.
You say Nelo is going out safety 1st ?
Check out how GGG went out.
Take Nelo's name off his ledger and there is nothing left.
Sry, but I must use GGG as an example.

Repeatedly citing that GGG is overrated to me doesn't really make me go warm on Canelo's choices post-Bivol because I personally don't rate GGG that highly as you seem to think I do. Unless you started out a heavyweight or something, I personally only have a limited amount of regard to those who stayed in one division for their whole career (final cashout against Canelo at 168 not counting) without attempting to go undisputed. I don't really have anything against losses on a fighter because in a perfect world of competition, there is supposed to be only one undefeated "champion" per division at most, since you'd think the logical move is to continue pitting undefeated against undefeated until one last man standing, 135 a year or two ago was pathetic when you consider Tank, Teo, Haney all were claiming the best of the division without touching eachother at all. Loma lost but atleast he did fight the best of the division.
While I will be happy to see it IF it happens and regardless of point I will applaud Canelo for actually taking it, but I'm not banking on a Bivol-Canelo rematch happening until I see it (I didn't believe in Usyk-Fury occurring until it actually occurred for real either). And by rematch I mean a straight up boxing match either at 168 or 175 with the belts on line, not some crap that the other farce of boxing likes to do with stuff like catchweight to save his 168 belts or at 168 rehydration clause and shenanigans...tho being fair Canelo is definitely better than Tank in that regard for the most part.

2) Well, the we hate Nelo club loved to hail him for his dominance at MW
I can't hate on a guy knowing his limits, but, GGG opened his mouth and didn't follow up.
3) It will happen if Biv wins.

2) I personally didn't really officially join the Canelo opponent choice b!tching club until around the Charlo fight (atleast on this forum) because that was just pure ******ity. While ignoring other contenders in your own division and instead pulling a guy one division up with them having the intent of immediately going back down even before the fight is already dumb, but two division was just...WTF. Would be equivalent of Inoue somehow deciding to evade MJ (who isn't exactly the greatest of all or anything) and instead bringing up Bam from 115 to fight next April just to claim he's facing a more qualified P4P. Another reason I pray the idiocy of Crawford-Canelo stays dead because it truly is worthless, thankfully Canelo doesn't seem interested in it but Crawford makes me disappointed in that he's willing on giving up on the realistic chance to become the first three division undisputed for a non-legacy creating cashout where he sells his zero for the millions.
3) Out of curiosity what do you think will happen if Bivol loses (which can very realistically happen given the odds)? Doubt Canelo is gonna face Beterbiev at 175, but does the chance on avenging his loss against Bivol also disappear once he's no longer undefeated?

At least there were guys willing to argue that Berlanga was a good opponent for Canelo while Benavides wasn't.
