I think he's saying jab like Lewis did - AJ was trying to counter but he got hit first every time. He also doesn't have enough lateral movement - he never will now.

I will say this - Joshua has tremendous heart - he's going out on his shield.

AJ was getting beat to the jab from the opening bell. Dubois is not only more powerful, but he is also faster.

I get what you are saying but the most dangerous takeaway from the Dubois fight is that Anthony Joshua never saw those punches coming which is very scary.

Therefore, putting AJ back in the ring with Daniel Dubois at this point of his career just may be a bit sadistic. He won't win that fight. I say preserve him for a huge cash out fight with Tyson Fury instead. Make it a two fight deal.

After rewatching the fight several times, the reason AJ got into trouble in the first round was DD jab, it touched, him, pushed him back, and threw off his game plan, I can't remember anyone jabbing AJ with that much force, that early, and that often. He wasn't prepared for it at all, I don't even think he was ready to fight. I have no doubt he can turn this result around in a second fight, but he is going to have to shed some weight, and work on establishing his jab. Might want to work on head movement as well.

Well being aggressive is what got him sent to the moon. And he actually had Dubois hurt.

There's no doubt AJ suc*ked on the night. But people are acting like Dubois is some kind of killer. This is a guy who has been stopped twice - once by a small guy. He has also been down 3 times in the first round to a journeyman.

I still think Dubois most likely wins a rematch but AJ can really do a lot better. Just don't make basic mistakes for a start and keep your hands up. And given that Dubois has been stopped twice before - he has an ok chance.

I doubt AJ has good sparring with his current trainer. What kind of sparring partners does he have there? He needs to sort that out.

Likely the type that do as they're told, and don't try to hurt Eddies golden goose.

i mean it would have given him a punchers chance sure but he was so sloppy and defensively irresponsible. look at the fight breakdown videos, Joshua wasnt taking some of the defensive tactics that he used to do in earlier fights in his career. he was leaving him self wide open, he probably would have gotten KO'd sooner if he was more aggressive but didnt correct his defense, remember how he got starched in the first place when he was chasing down dubois very aggressively but left himself wide open. Dubois ultimately KO'd him with a counter while on the back foot, Joshua was supposed to be the better boxer and dubois the crude slugger so that was embarrassing.

Bellew is Joshua's buddy, so no surprise he says this.

Tony was a very good fighter, good in the movie Creed as well.

Yeah, Dubois smashes AJ again if they ever do a rematch. It was such a blowout, no demand for a rematch.
