  • What is the purpose of PED testing if the result is only revealed after the fight?

It boggles my mind. It really does.

Shouldn't these testing bodies and commissions get sued also for letting fights to go on inadvertently knowing or not that the other fighter is tested positive?

    What do you think guys?

I think they should just stop all testing.

testing gives an unfair advantage to the wealthiest fighters, they can spend the money on a coach and team to get them to pass all tests. the poorer fighter may not be able to afford that and takes more risks getting caught.

it really took off in early 2000s. we saw a rapid shift in older fighters dominating younger guys. look how many guys over 33 there are at the elite level and compare that to the 1980s. 33-35 used to be shot territory. look at SRL, Ali, ect all shot by that age.

even "old" fighters who were still "competitive" like late 30s larry holmes, late 30s archie moore, ect they were still old and way past prime. now look at late 30s fighters they are dominating younger guys

all of this happening while men's testosterone in the general population is plummeting. testosterone in men was way higher in the 70s and 80s than now. of course with PEDs that changes everything.

testers take sample, send to lab, gets tested etc, takes time i think, not sure how long but maybe weeks, should be done asap within 10 days or so but people are people and things take time, for example bumgardner got busted 3 days before her fight but took time for the results to come out, they got eggie in time even tho eddie tried to push it through anyway & he has done that in the past as well, hes a total weasel and only cares for the $$$$

You have a point. In many cases, it's weeks after the fight is already over. And in some cases, it's not even the winner that got exposed.
I'm thinking, maybe they're required to give urine samples after the fight and that sample is their basis for the positive test, I don't know.
But still, why only when the fight is over, not before? This sport is a huge mess, not to mention judges able to change course of fighters'
careers and the sport in general awarding fights to undeserving ones.

Primary aim is to protect fighters. In this case they're pretty much useless. Damage has been done. I just can't wrap my head around it.

There’s nothing they can do about it if the sample that tests positive is one of the samples that are taken closer to the fight.

Because it takes a while to get the results back.

Who are we kidding... Alice Baum is still able to smile, able to keep her belts, no requirement to compensate her previous opponents, no lengthy suspension, no real venomous outrage from biased fans, nothing. It's a corrupt sport from top to bottom.

yeah its a bit like justin trouser snake getting caught loaded behind the wheel barely able to keep a straight line, refuses an alcohol test & then claims he wasnt drunk and only had one drink & he doesnt even get a driving ban lol, its a total insult to all victims of drunk drivers & an outrage really

That's really only for the test the night of the fight. They test all throughout camp as well.

one of the weird things about being busted for peds is that those busted rarely if ever produce any evidence of how they got 'contaminated', i mean they are pro athletes with pro trainers nutrition etc & they keep track of what they take & know exactly what supplements they are on etc & yet never produce any evidence of anything when if u wanted to you could buy a few tubs of whatever u take and if one was contaminated u just give the whole lot to the testers to find out what happened, that is just a basic way of doing it of course, they are all cheating scum basically just like ryan cryin garcia, some get away scott free and some dont, its a farce surely
