Maybe it is also the kick up the backside that the sport needs to make stricter rules.
Since the sport is super lax about punishing PED use, then hitting the wallets of promoters and their fighters via civil suits may be the only way to deter cheaters.

Pretty embarrassing thing to read. Kids today are so FRAGILE. Any lawyer will sue if you got the money to pay him. Win or loose the case. The lawyer always gets paid. He has no case. All he's doing is embarrassing himself.
Get your a-ss back in the ring and fight, instead of doing nothing like tank.

Very complicated case. Any attorney will have to spend a lot of time studying this. Only reason why it would make sense if it's by contingency fees basis. Which means lawyers get paid only if they win, which is not easy to predict. Otherwise, money pours down the drain for high hourly rates.

It's the nature of the business. Talk about being a sore loser. PEDs didn't make Garcia superman. So now Haney is going to sue everyone he loses too. I wish they would give him and his father the boot from boxing for this outrageous crap. Haney will make himself look very bad filing this lawsuit.
Obviously, you know nothing about the advantages of PEDS. If they don't make a remarkable difference, then why are they banned in sports?

Now I’ve seen it all. A boxer suing an opponent for assault.

I don’t know about the failed test or the contamination excuse, etc, but I do know that Garcia wouldn’t have needed anything to do what he did. Haney fought the wrong fight and was open to Garcia’s most dangerous weapon all night. I couldn’t believe that he stood in front of him like that. He has been so much more cautious against much less dangerous punchers in the past.

while I don't condone Garcia's PED use, Haney has filed this lawsuit to try to save his reputation, and he doesn't care about general PED use in boxing. He was completely humiliated in this fight. Haney was way too overconfident and literally enabled Garcia to come in overweight by offering to take $500k per lb Garcia checked in overweight- he was literally that ******. Haney realizes he made a huge miscalculation and is now saying and doing everything to try to save face. If he wants to save face, he needs to get Garcia back in the ring and beat him. This lawsuit may be a means for Haney to get some potential leverage in a rematch negotiation.

This is the most epicly absurd thing I have read in my entire lifetime (and I was there at the beginning). Devin Haney is single-handedly turning Ryan Garcia into the rarest of fight legends. Fascinating lack of self-awareness from Devin.

Devin Haney isn't suing Ryan Garcia because he loss a legitimate boxing match to him.
He's suing Ryan 'Steroids' Garcia, because Ryan took illegal substances that gave him an illegal/criminal advantage over him.
I'm not a Haney fan, because I don't like his fighting style, but he's fought, and beaten everyone put in front of him up until 'Steroids' Garcia.
If Ryan would've beaten Devin fair, and square then he would've gotten all of the accolades deserving of a win over a quality opponent such as Devin.
Ryan didn't believe that he could defeat Devin without some extra help (cheating), so he came in over weight, and fired up on Steroids.
If you were in Devin's shoes you would more than likely do what he's doing now, and that's holding Ryan accountable for his illegal/criminal action's.
There's no doubt that Ryan gave Devin a severe beating when they fought each other.
There's also no doubt that he did it on drugs that made him stronger, faster, and angrier than he's ever been before.
He couldn't have beaten Devin in the manner he did without the steroids, so he got himself loaded up on steroids,
That's why he should be taken to court, because Ryan isn't a professional, he's a criminal who has already been arrested for other crimes after their fight.
One moment he's laughing, another he's crying, then he's relaxed, then he's raging, he needs a psychological evaluation asap.
None of your 'facts' really matter though, do they? Devin desperately want to restore his status in the the sport, but he's oblivious to the fact that he's, in fact, permanently ruining it. This action by the Haneys is the height of lunacy. Devin just cannot let things lie. His reputation has already been hammered into the dirt, by the loss and his whining, and yet he insists on jumping up and down to bury it even further. Insanity.
