  • Do you think AJ is done?

Genuine question. Do you think Anthony Joshua is done? Is there a possible comeback at the age of 35 to become a 3x Heavyweight World Champion?

What are your thoughts? Where does it go from here?

AJ is the most inconsistent boxer of all time...

I don't think he's physically done. He would be back to looking great if he fought Wallin or Ngannou again. But his mentality isn't right. Switching trainer so much has made him technically worse. There are times when he should be throwing a stiff jab but instead he's flicking it out, at times he looks unsure what to even do with his lead hand. He was never a defensive wizard but he used to keep his hands up more and be defensively switched on. He used to be pretty good with his punch selection but now he telegraphs uppercuts from his back pocket.

There are guys in the top 10 that he could beat. But I don't see him getting a belt unless Usyk retires and AJ grabs an easy vacant title.

He's too weak mentally speaking, and has no chin. If he goes on, the risk is sliding down to David Price levels.

My answer is yes, he's done and should retire. Even if he wins more fights against lesser opponents, taking additional shots won't do any good to his brain.

And also: from the moment I saw AJ going out of his mind post Usyk with that rant, I thought about Frank Bruno and his mental health issues after he was finished with boxing. I think PEDs have a say in all of this, although neither fighter was never officially caught cheating.

He could probably win a belt, but hold it?

I think he's too chinny at this point and Paulie said it best on a ProBox feature. As you get older, the ability to take those punches you would normally take younger just isn't there anymore. Then I believe Chris Algeri chimed in to talk about the muscles in the head that get weaker in time as they take blows. The stabilizers and what not that might assist in your equilibrium to prevent you from going on ***** street.

I'm not medical expert so I don't know if what Chris Algeri was talking was legit, but it made some sense because we see it time and time again where a guy whose taken decent shots in the past, all a sudden have zero punch resistance. I feel AJ has gotten to that point. Granted, you can't discredit Dubois's power either. He's nearly KO'd every man he's beat. So, whether AJ's chin is completely broke is questionable considering the power he absorbed by DDD.

                - - Yeah, all that likely a result of the massive pur$e$, fights, and bursting stadium attendance.

For sure he's top 3 in physical attributes for a heavyweight, and it was those that propelled him to the top that he couldn't mentally hold in the end.

Joshua was always chinny and his recovery is horrible (needs several rounds to recover), his legs turn to jelly when he gets hit clean by a decent puncher. Klitschko and Whyte had him on ***** street but couldn't finish him. Klitschko was old and Whyte sucks. Looking at Joshua's record, anytime he stepped up against decent fighters of his era (Ruiz jr, Uysk, Dubois) he got battered. Ruiz jr rematch win doesn't count, because Fat Andy lost the fight at the buffet. Only good win was Parker, but Parker is not a big puncher and the ref did not allow Parker to fight inside. Martin, Breazeale, Takam, Molina, all B-C level. Klitschko, Povetkin, Pulev, all past prime-near retirement. His "rebuild" after back to back Usyk losses was basically spoon feeding him soft touches, but Hearn had Brit Casuals fooled with the "New and Better rebuilt" Joshua under Davison, but we saw the result.

He just lost by a KO for a paper title. Usyk is the only true champ, and I don`t see Joshua beating Usyk or Fury.

I don˙t think he can beat Parker ( now) , Bakole or Kabayel either. Maybe he can beat Zhang, because Zhang`s cardio sucks. But if Zhang catches him, good night.
