If Errol Spence Jr. competed at 154-160 during his prime, how well would he had faired?

Wasn't that part of the three fight PBC deal with Canelo before Spence lost to Crawford?

Reason why people are now pushing for Crawford vs Alvarez. Though I am aware that sounds quite odd considering he be climbing up 3 divisions, more so than Jermell did from 154 to 168.

Yeah, the plan was Mel, Mal and then Spence at 164 (though it probably would have happened at 168)

Honestly Canelo's fans should be glad he didn't go through this deal. There be quite a controversy, what kind of professional fighter is fighting three fighters in a row with such a weight disadvantage. Whether they are P4P rated fighters or not.

I expect he'd win some, but he'd lose a fair number of those matchups too, especially at 160. I have always thought he was a basic fighter who used his physical talents relative to the weight class, and careful and skilled in-house PBC matchmaking to excel. I think he knew that too, which is why his entire career was spent at 147, and why he defended his IBF belt, which comes with rehydration limits, only one time in 4 years. Feel free to explain to me what made him P4P in your mind. I've been questioning that since well before the Crawford fight.
You're right, he basically had a basic/simple sort of style at 147.

But a lot of that is due to him being so much bigger than most natural welters, that he didn't need to add more to his repertoire since what he was doing worked.

Had Spence moved up sooner and was fighting guys his own size or bigger, it would have forced him to add more wrinkles to his game and develop much more.

He would have also gotten naturally stronger in a healthy way had he moved up sooner.

That's the problem with weight bullies, they have a hard time reaching their true potential because of the weight cut and it eventually takes an adverse toll on them.

GGG would have end his career that’s why he had no other choice then to risk his life on each weightcut.

But feel like Hurd's absurd size will be difficult to overcome though he doesn't bring much to the table other than quick snappy jab, while illusive boxer punchers like Lara and Jermell will be 50/50 fights for Spence. He could potentially beat either yes considering the smaller Charlo was uncomfortable with Castaño's pressure and so was Lara against Angulo though he won convincingly by TKO, not sure if Spence would be undisputed however.

Hope to see more of Tim Tszyu to see if he is as good as advertised.
Think spences body shots would have got to lara. Agree about the charlo fight tho, that's a close fight .

Tszyu is definitely an interesting fighter

Think lara struggles with his body shots , castano eould lose a decision. Hurd gives him problems for sure but think spence could piece him up and not fold under pressure like lara did. Charlo would be the fight I'm not sure about

It's hard to judge on tszyu, I'm on about a prime spence before the car crash. Tszyu wasn't on the scene then

Most people don't have the discipline OR right body type to cut weight.
People who do well with a deep cut usually are just average if they move up in weight. Thats why they dont want to move up.

Castano whooped his ass in the amateurs at 152. No reason to think the same wouldn't happen at 154 in a pro fight.

Canelos fans don't give a **** who he fights. They just spent months defending Berlenga and calling it a good fight.
