He's delusional and in denial. If Eddie had a conscience, he'd tell him the truth, but Eddie would pimp a corpse to make money. The punch resistance and legs are totally gone. A prime AJ stops a basic fighter like Dubois in 7 or 8 rounds.

AJ is used to rising up now after how many times DD put him down

I think subconsciously he saw himself as better than Dubois and came in with the wrong attitude to this fight,

After the first round you can give AJ a break for his lack of boxing smarts because he wasn't all there and was on wobbly legs. Aj has terrible recovery. The real surprise after that point was how long Dubois took to finish him.

Might be a bit of both. Some analysts are pointing to similarities with his first fight against Ruiz, where he used a comparable stance. Some of it could have been deliberate, he might have been trying to elicit a response from Dubois. Not that Dubois needed any incentive to come forward and deliver power punches, obviously. What does not make sense is the lack of adjustements after the first round.

Raygun is now 6-4 in his last 10.
I suggested before the fight Aj wasn't prepared for Dubois because of his carefully managed paper belt resume. 3 novices, 5 38-41 year olds, a selection of non punching cans & Parker Ruiz & Usyk.

Dubois was faster, hungrier, far superior jab(that's a weapon) better footwork, light on his feet & almost hit Aj at will.
Aj was hands low chin high prodding the jab out throwing hopeful right hands, & when one finally did detonate Dubois made space, composed & sent Aj into Berbick territory.

I'm afraid his heart is going to get him hurt. He know's inside it's time for strictly & cooking shows whilst continuing to build on his portfolio. Enjoy it man.

I'm not so sure Aj was ever that good, he's never beaten a prime elite heavyweight. When was his prime? 9 fight molina? 9 fight Brazeale? 41 year old Klitschko who lost to father time that night not Aj, Aj was done but Klitschko was to old to finish the job. Ruiz 2?
His best looked to be Usyk 2, was it Garcia his coach put him through hell, apparently Aj was always arguing & disagreeing the entire camp. Ben i see as another yes man in the camp.
Is Dubois really that basic? Great footwork & that jab went through Ajs.

AJ has basically said his worldwide search he went on after the usyk fights for a new trainer was useless & the solution to his problems lies within HIM, he has to find the way forward himself, noone can show or teach him this & its something to do with his heart as well

he should start wearing T's with a big heart on it, good marketing & simple message across for the next payday, i mean fight
              shwaap shwaap likes this.

Wilder won more heavyweight title fights than anybody else in his heavyweight era. He never once lost to a fighter who wasn't the linial world's champion while in his prime and he also drew with him. And he had the highest KO rate of any title claimant who had multiple defenses under his belt.

Molina, Breazeale, Helenius ....they all fished from the same pond.

This latest still-in-prime bashing has surely dropped AJ BELOW Wilder in legacy ranking, if only just slightly.

You can quit the myth now.

Contending against the top tier Heavyweights is over now for him, he won’t beat those guys and will get badly hurt, no point in that. It’s over, get your Retirement plans ready or you’ll regret it, you have a kid and family to take care of, you want to be able to share in their future and not be a vegetable. Hang up the gloves, it’s over.

Joshua came in predicting early KO, but the thing is Joshua doesn't have the best chin in the world and Dubois hurt him first. Aj can win the rematch. He needs to box, be more conscious of Dubois punches early on. Watch, the odds won't even be that bad against him, probably be like 9 to 5 against him. I would get rid of Ben Davidson though he is an offense guy even had Fury getting punched way too much. I would bring in John David Jackson or Andre Wards coach.
