By process of elimination. Buatsi is almost the last light heavy with a credential for Beterbeiv. Forget about blown up Canelo crushing Bivol. Canelo is an ant compared to Betes, but Willy Hutch is worse. As far as Benny goes, He's not scaring anybody at 175.

The winner is going to want a last ‘pension fight’ to see them safe for the rest of their lives. If either were to defend the unified title it would be v Benavidez because that will be a bigger payday than Buatsi. Realistically, though, if Bivol wins his biggest payday is a rematch with CCanelo. If Beterbiev wins his biggest payout might be stepping up to cruiser. Either way, what Buatsi has won is the chance to be one of the guys fighting for versions of the title once the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev either vacates or is stripped.
Imo the biggest money fight for the winner, irrespective of who wins, is Canelo.

Either man wins this, but I hope Beterbiev calls it a career win or lose after Bivol. His injuries are catching up to him at his age. Buatsi has set himself up nicely for a shot at... something. Not sure what, but the dust will settle and he will get a shot for a bigger money fight. What he does with that? Jury is way out on that one.

He is not ready, but he is a ranked contender, so he has the right to dream.

Domestic competition makes a lot more sense for Buatsi. He is not ready for the elite of 175. If he wants to fight the winner of Beterbiev - Bivol, that is just a cry for a payday. In the words of Canelo Alvarez when he was mocking Andrade - 'payday... payday ...payday".

Buatsi is at the top end of British domestic level but that's it.

The gulf between him and those champs is HUGE. Worlds apart. I don't begrudge him a shot if he earns it but it would be one-sided against either of them, in different ways
