TBH people on here may or may not know about the sport of boxing but they definitely don’t understand the business of boxing. There is no chance of the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev defending against Buatsi. Both Bivol and Beterbiev are approaching their career end. The winner is going to want a last ‘pension fight’ to see them safe for the rest of their lives. If either were to defend the unified title it would be v Benavidez because that will be a bigger payday than Buatsi. Realistically, though, if Bivol wins his biggest payday is a rematch with CCanelo. If Beterbiev wins his biggest payout might be stepping up to cruiser. Either way, what Buatsi has won is the chance to be one of the guys fighting for versions of the title once the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev either vacates or is stripped.

Both Beterbiev and Bivol could retire for 2 years and I would still pick them to beat Joshua, his game not there and I just haven’t witnessed great improvements.

Benavidez is interim champ and recently beat Gvozdyk who previously held the WBC belt so deserves to face the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev. Therefore, Buatsi should face Yarde/Morrell first with the winner getting the next title shot.

I think that Yarde would KO him.

i don't think bivol has the power to stop anyone 'world level' - would prob outbox buatsi tho

Never gonna happen. both are already guaranteed a title shot and are #1 with separate sanctioning bodies. one is going to have to take step-aside though.

Beterbiev and Bivol aren't 'business men' tho.. if it was any other boxer I'd agree.

This is what Arum has to say about Beterbiev moving up to cruiser in the future -

Arum - “That’s going up and giving up 25 lbs. As good as he is, that’s a step too far in my opinion. I don’t know what Artur has to say about that but I just think it’s silly for a guy who has no problem making light heavyweight and is not that big a guy going up 25 lbs to fight a cruiserweight. I just don’t think it makes any sense."

Yarde continues to duck the fight though. Seems a little worried.

When they're reaching the end of their career all boxers are businessmen! Also, as you pointed out, Buatsi & Benavidez are both ranked |1 with separate bodies so if the winner of Bivol v Beterbiev defended v Benavidez he would probably be stripped of at least one world title, which Buatsi would then fight for. Also, I don't know how big a LHW Beterbiev is but would you really not fancy him to beat the winner of Zurdo v CBS? Opateia, I grant you, is a different proposition.
