Insightful interview with Don Charles on Seconds Out YT channel.
Don rips into Ben Davisons team around the 23 minute mark.
    Well worth a watch.

Badly hurt & floored by Klitschko
      wobbled by a Povetkin combination
      Dropped 4 times & KO'd by Ruiz
wobbled by Uysk in round 3 & nearly KO'd in round 12
Dropped 3 times and then completely starched by DDD

AJ really has only 2 options now - go after wilder for the big money or set up fights with the top contenders like Zhang, Parker or Bakole. There's no point running it back with Dubois again, the outcome will be exactly the same and I'm sure his promotional team/management know this.

Can you imagine what Zhang would inflict on AJ? A guy who has sparked out Joyce, wilder and dropped Hrgovic... AJ definitely gets slept in only one or two rounds from a southpaw left or a huge right hook he doesn't see coming. His chin is just way too high and his defence is non existent.
I feel like you are the King Dong here - speaking the actual truth. I've been saying for ages that AJ will experience at least 2 more losses like the Ruiz loss in his career. Once he gets hurt he takes at least 2 rounds to recover. Whyte said at the time if he hadn't of injured his shoulder (probably from attacking AJ's corner men) he would have been able to go after AJ more after he hurt him.

I'm not 100% certain Zhang would beat him. It would be a dangerous fight for him but I think Zhang can be slow and outboxed and outlasted. Also AJ has already dropped and beaten Zhang. Yeah it was years ago but Zhang is 41 now.

Also AJ was so sloppy in this fight like you say - he can actually fix that. Honestly I would go for Dubois to win rematch, but I think AJ can do a lot better next time out

Do you realize he is a boxer? It's what he likes, it's what he enjoys. It's only the Ruiz and Dubois fights where Aj has taken proper damage and he has never been out cold in the ring

As for looking done - he got hurt at end of first round. After that he was in survival mode cos of his terrible recovery. You can't judge that someone is done after one fight. Before this fight people were saying "this is the best AJ ever" haha

Who was saying that? A.J fanboys. It's what he likes, what he enjoys? Did he look like he was having a good time Saturday? Did you watch the fight? What exactly would a rematch prove? You talk about punishment. Were you ever an athlete? Have you ever been knocked out. Every knockout is a concussion. Whether in sparring or real fights. Do you want Joshua to end up like Muhammad Ali? The dude is a multimillionaire with a suspect chin. He was carefully managed and had a successful career. Getting knocked out again by Dubois may pad his wallet but also can cause further damage. It's his choice but retiring should definitely be considered.

Retiring early is the biggest danger to any boxer's health. Did AJ look like he was having a good time in 1st Ruiz fight? If he hadn't taken the rematch he would never have been champion again.

Did Dubois look like he was having a good time when Joyce made him quit or he went down 3 times against journeyman Lerena? Maybe he should have quit then?

Fighters fight outside of the ring - not just inside it. They accept brain damage when they enter the sport - esp HW boxing

I feel like after all this time AJ still doesn't have a definitive style as a fighter. At times he tries to fight as the big man fighting tall and sticking behind the jab and at other times he'll have his left hand low trying to fight of his reflexes. He still hasn't figured out his identity as a fighter after all this time. IMO that's where he is coming up short as these are the things to fall back on when in the face of adversity.

"Retiring early is the biggest danger to any boxer's health" Lol. Do you have any statistics to back that up. How is Andre Ward doing lately. Daniel Dubois was 23 when he lost to Joyce. Joshua will be 35 next month. Terrible comparison. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Dubois destroy Joshua again but is it in A.J's best interests? Probably not!

Josh cares about legacy, so won't want to go out like that. Chisora came back better. Parker came back. Lennox Lewis too, not to mention wladimir.
Some don't bounce back too I'm sure

This guy needs to cut AJ some slack. AJ was competitive in the fight and wobbled DuBois before he got wobbled and knocked out. Fighters back in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s fought each other loss a couple of fights here and there and came back and won championships. Lewis got dropped worst than AJ when he fought Rahman. He came back and knocked Rahman the f%%k out in the next fight. AJ should take a fight in a few months and test himself and get the stain off of this knockout away from him. Fighters loss and fighters win.

Fighters are defined by how they handle wins and losses. Barry McGuigan needs to go suck a lemon and keep his opinions to himself.
