Maybe someone like Kingsley Ibeh who arguably beat Vianello and performed well against Jared Anderson. If these guys are too dangerous, I'd like to see him at least fight someone who will give him rounds and take him deeper in a fight. Maybe Dawejko does that. We'll see.
Good post. Some of the guys you mention make sense. I wonder how much Dawejko has left.

I've not seen Kingsley Ibeh before but I like the sound of the other 2 mentioned.

I think it's a one fight deal with TR. After that he may go back to GBP. Not sure.

Ibeh had a run of fights at the ESPN bubble during the pandemic. I don't think he had much of an amateur background (he may have been a football player) but he's strong and athletic. He had a draw against Vianello where he probably deserved the win (I thought he won) and gave Anderson a tough fight until getting stopped in the closing seconds of the final bell. Ibeh, unlike Rice and Forrest, has been active recently.

He's not the most skilled but he comes to win and is hard to put down. I don't think it would be an easy fight for Torrez and he could compare his performance versus Anderson's.

Not sure if any of you remember Baby Joe Messi, but Torrez sort of reminds me of a more athletic and more accomplished (amateurs at least) version of Baby Joe.

Messi was a fan favorite up in Buffalo and usually blitzed overmatched and shopworn opponents before a raucous hometown crowd. He had power and athleticism and ESPN covered alot of his fights. He racked up alot of wins before he really started to step up his competition.

I want to say he struggled in a fight against Monte "Two Guns" Barrett and it was determined he had a brain bleed afterwards which pretty much ended his career (even tho he continued fighting). Anyway, I digress...

Torrez is must see TV for me, but he's just too small for a heavyweight.

I remember Mesi, think he was billed as a great white hope. Good ticket seller. He struggled against jirov think at the time it was a touch controversial

That's right. I forgot he fought Jirov, looking back in it...he fought Jirov and Barrett back to back. Maybe it was after the Jirov fight they found the brain bleed. Anyway, both the Jirov and Barrett fights were close and I remember one being controversial...must have been the Jirov fight.

I think Barrett also pieced him up as well

I saw him fight at Foxwoods. I was actually there to see big Lou Savarese but Mesi did seem to have some skills for his size.
