Those are some great observations! Makes a lot of sense. I notice that head movement seems to fall by the wayside for a lot of fighters... Its like they forget about it somewhere down the line. I noticed this with one of my favorite fighters, Pit Bull Cruz. I noticed that gradually in his fights, he moves his head less and less... And I believe if he forgets this he will pay like he did last fight.

Not even sure if you watched the fight. I expected him to be washed in 3 rounds and definitely not go 12. He had no respect for canelo and wasn’t scared to piss him off. Survival mode is what charlo did, Berlanga was definitely trying to win but was outmatched and out skilled. Probably because he never had 1 single round of experience against a champion or even a former champion before that night while canelo has been champ for 14 yrs. Which is exactly why canelo picked him.
No he didn't go after Canelo the way he said he would, but he did sting him a couple of times, and he wasn't even supposed to do that.
All in all he proved that he could take a punch, and go the distance as well, now that he's proved his detractors wrong on those two points.
His detractors are trying to change the narrative by saying it was because he outweighed Canelo that he was able to take his punch, and last the distance.
Edgar did prove something this past Saturday, and that was that he can compete with the top ten rated fighters in his division.
His next few fights will either add more wins, and experience to his career, or he'll go down as the fighter who didn't take advantage of a golden opportunity when it was presented to him.
I've heard McCumby in February 2025, then Munguia in June 2025, if he beats them then it's a top ten fighter, or a championship fight.
I'm interested in finding out how that plays out, and if he can become the champion he's been bragging about that he can be.Comment

I thought Berlanga was going to get ran over but he proved tougher than I expected. His inexperience did show but he showed a lot of power but don't know how to deliver it. I would like to see him against Mbilli or Munguia. That would take care of the guys a currently rank below David and Morrell.Comment
