Canelo, even with his diminishing skills would beat Crawford convincingly and laugh all the way to the bank knowing Turki is foolish to make such a ridiculous fight. Canelo, take his money, we can’t blame you if he’s that

FYI, I've known and read just about everything Tom has ever written and I think he's an eloquent writer and story teller but his view point on this subject has no deep meaning....it's a hit job. When it comes to Turki Al-Alshikh Tom is the designated mouth piece of the shytty status quo.
Tom may be a priest but he's no saint, he spent the past 50 years watching the corrupt cannibalize the sport and did nothing. Maybe he feels obligated to the crooks that voted him into the hall of fame, or maybe he just has more in common with Eli Seckbach then he does some truthsayer.

Has anyone actually came out and said that this Turki, “his excellency” appears to be intimidating everyone with nothing more than money power? Has anyone tried to make fun of him or are they worried that this oh so powerful money behind some type of protective Arabian army is going to come, get you and hurt you? I too feel intimidated to say anything wrong, even about a turkey. Good, honest, fun or camaraderie it’s always part of being famous. No disrespect meant, of course.

As I've said many times, I agree Thomas Hauser is a great story teller. That said, you're confusing a guy that honestly reports the truth like Edward R. Murrow with a good story teller like Steven Spielberg...the later being an entertainer and not the harbinger of truth.
How in the hell does one of Boxing's prolific writers so often under report or even skip the decades of massive, blatant, in your face injustices and then do a 360 and attempt to claim moral high ground but only when someone threatens the entire shyty system of crookedness. I'm sorry but Tom traded his moral high ground for access, history books and a vote into the hall of fame, and to imply that change to the system will lead to it's downfall is to imply that it could possibly fall any further.
Maybe you disagree and that's your opinion.
In my opinion, Tom had his chance and chose to cater to the powerful and bashing change right now is just more of the same, and no less of an a-s-s kisser then Elie Seckbach r-e-p-o-r-t-i-n-g.

And to think, all Canelo had to do is serve up a shyt fight with a hand picked guy he paid to lose and you loved it. I know, to hell Morrell and Benavidez for frighting Canelo because Mexican fans don't like that.Last edited by factsarenice; 09-19-2024, 03:42 PM.

If Turki has any knowledge about boxing, which seems doubtful, real fight fans want to see Crawford fight Boots, rematch Madrimov, Ortiz, or Tszyu. Crawford fought Madrimov at 154 and looked ordinary. Only a fan boy like Turki thinks going up 2 more weights (168) makes any sense. If Turki is willing to spend like a drunken sailor, why doesn’t he help the children in Yemen who are starving and in need of medicine due to the Saudi war against Yemen. That would help the Saudi’s image of white washing their abhorrent human rights record via sports.
