Apparently Berlanga was 193 last night. Yet Benavidez is too big!

I understand Canelo put a 10 lb rehydration clause in the contract — not the first time he’s done so, by the way. My guess is that he himself comes in about 175. I imagine an opponent can rehydrate further after the second weigh-in on the morning of a fight, which would explain Berlanga coming in even heavier. Edgar is huge for 168. He’s been enjoying a size advantage for most or all of his whole career.
the rehydration clause weigh in and IBF championship fight day weigh ins are in the morning of the fight... so the fighters continue rehydrating after it. its not their ring weight. f
Canelo gave up the IBF because they wanted him to fight that random uber driver so the only thing left would be if there is anything contractual.Comment

yeah he weighed in 166.8 which means its an easy weight cut for him otherwise he would be closer if he was struggling. but 13 pounds to get to 180 well that is nothing for an elite boxer, thats an easy weight cut today. we do know he looked huge with charlo who is not a small super middle.
He came in 174.4 for Bivol and im looking at his photos and he still looks like he cut more than 5 pounds of water there.
I wish the broadcaster would do unofficial weights like HBO used to do.Last edited by elfag; 09-15-2024, 05:42 PM.Comment

He was in the 180s vs Kov and probably that is his regular weight now in shape, and he's always in shape.Comment
