Apparently Berlanga was 193 last night. Yet Benavidez is too big!

It’s not easy to find a reliable source — or any source — for Canelo’s fight night weight during his 168 campaign.

yeah because he doesnt tell anyone but canelo has always been a big rehydrator & im sure that hasnt changed either, people always go by height but if u look at side by side photos canelo is always wider than his opponents

I imagine an opponent can rehydrate further after the second weigh-in on the morning of a fight, which would explain Berlanga coming in even heavier. Edgar is huge for 168. He’s been enjoying a size advantage for most or all of his whole career.
I just curious. The weight was never an issue against benavidez.

Yeah, he’s built like a bull; but still, he’s not that big. I’ve lifted weights since I was a kid, and have a decent amount of muscle. I can’t see Canelo being 20 lbs heavier than me with that kind of conditioning. Anyway, not trying to get too deep into it. Just don’t think he’s above 180 in the ring. Probably somewhere between 175 and 180, IMHO.

"In what makes a strong case that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KO’s) should be fighting at middleweight or better yet super middleweight, Canelo reportedly stepped inside the ring last Saturday night at 174 lbs for his bout against Alfredo Angulo (22-4, 18 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I’m comparing some photos now. Honestly, the difference is hard to see. Maybe Canelo’s slightly bigger. It’s not night and day. As I said before: he’s obviously fighting closer to his natural weight now, which is likely around 175-180 anyway.

canelo would need to cut his leg off now if he wanted to make 154, not a chance in hell, he would have no chance of even making 160 now!! lol

Bivol also didn't complain when he fought Zurdo who came in around 207lbs on fight night when they fought.

for a sport based on weight classes its bizarre we have no idea what they actually weigh in the ring so have to have endless discussions on it with missing facts, canelo ends up being some type of incredible shrinking man, if they have a system where guys put on X amount at least tell us what that X is, like hbo did who were great even tho they got slagged off at times they are missed

Yeah, I have a hard time believing Canelo comes in under 180 today.
