I understand Canelo put a 10 lb rehydration clause in the contract — not the first time he’s done so, by the way. My guess is that he himself comes in about 175. I imagine an opponent can rehydrate further after the second weigh-in on the morning of a fight, which would explain Berlanga coming in even heavier. Edgar is huge for 168. He’s been enjoying a size advantage for most or all of his whole career.

Benny went up to 175 to fight that ukranian guy & benny was 189 pounds in the ring on the night. Now canelo is claiming that benny goes from 168 (+25 pounds) to 193 lol

Well, the difference is that Canelo at 168 is fighting much closer to his natural weight. He and I aren’t far apart in height/build. I don’t think he’s over 180 on fight night. I would be surprised.
