Damn, that was a beating but even so, I thought the stoppage was just a bit premature.

That was not a knockdown it completely hit arm only. It just pushed him over. Plant showed real dog and impressive gas tank he was throwing heavy combinations into the 9th round. The guy has real dog. Start off a bit rusty but took over like a real champ.

Agreed. Impressed with McCumby, really impressed with Plant's inside game. Good fight, even if I lost that $20.

There was a second punch just before Plant hit the mat a left hook.

Breadman is a genius trainer imo, one of the rare few who really make a difference and understand every nuance of the sport, and can read fights. He squeezed everything out of Plant vs Benavidez and again showed his worth tonight.

Wonder if 160 is a jump too big for the natural 140 pounder, I mean aware Lara is old and is not the same fighter he was, but he still was active at Middleweight with currently three consecutive KOs and just became champ.

I think Plant vs Gumby might be a FOTY candidate!

I'll watch McCumby again, he's got style, panache, entertainment, power, and more awareness then you'd think, but Plant landed basically at will with a 60+% rate and McCumby's best success came in the beginning where Plant was rusty. Put him in with Pacheco, Mbilli, DChenko, or Scull.
