Canelo got schooled by Bivol, he had a rematch clause but was too scared to activate it. He waved his white flag. No reason he should get a shot now. Benavidez, Morrell and possibly Beterbiev rematch would be higher priority.

We know from when Canelo fought Floyd, Golovkin the first time, and Bivol, that he just accepts being schooled and doesn't push hard to turn things around. He lost all 3 of those fights wide and just took it for 12 rounds hoping his paid off judges would bail him out. It was boring and repetitive and would be the same in a rematch.
