It was such a risk Bivol was a 4-1 underdog and barely anyone picked him to win. In reality it was a cherry pick to avoid Benavidez, which had far more demand, and was more lucrative than a nobody eastern euro fighter that nobody wanted to see Canelo fight.

Lol, Currently has no belts, when he had em, lost em two times, best win to date, a twelve rd decision vs Plant ,doesnt really sell well cause his fan base pretty limited(mostly ginger haters).

Lets face it, he's only a top contender with A LOT of hype and lot extra weight on fight night and most likely whoever wins the Bivol-Beterviev scrap will prove just that(assuming he actually steps in to plate to challenge the winner).

Benny doesn't even have the style that complicates the fighting style of Canelo ffs. I hope they get to fight cause I plant to make money off Bennys Betters. Easy money.
I agree with you and do believe that many of those claiming that Canelo is afraid of Benavidez aren't convinced that Benavidez would actually win but are just looking to sling mud at Canelo.

With that being said, I do however feel that Benavidez has a much greater chance of beating Canelo than Berlanga does. Benavidez puts together nice heavy combinations the first half of every fight, has the advantage of youth and size and is also hungry to claim that throne that Canelo currently sits on.

If the fight does happen to materialize and Canelo wins, he would quiet a lot of haters up and would add a legitimate notch to his belt. Win or lose, I believe it would be an exciting fight, a big event and sell very well. If it doesn't happen by September of next year though, I seriously doubt it'll ever happen. I'm crossing my fingers on it happening though....

Don't forget Ryder enjoyed several moments of success in the fight, to the extent that he left Canelo with bruising around his face lol

A true elite fighter would have destroyed ryder within 6 rounds. Canelo had a tough fight vs him which again proved he is done as elite. Still not obvious to some though. If Benavidez fought Ryder it would have looked like the lemuiex fight.

He is a 2 time wc and the youngest ever in the division. 29-0 and beaten 5 wc's and rated as one of the best fighters in the world. He would arguable be Canelo's best win considering he is a young killer in his prime and much bigger than 36 year old GGG at MW. What was john mugabi's legacy when Hagler beat him again?

You still don't even understand that stylistically Benavidez is a horrific match up for Canelo. I would have thought Canelo's blatant ducking and asking 200m would have finally made you realize how wrong you are about that. I guess not.

I agree and I'm pretty sure him not caring about what others think causes his detractors to hate him even more. The guy's been prize fighting since he was 15 or 16, I believe he's earned the right and has put himself in a financial position to do it his way.

A man usually gets to a certain age where no f-ukks are given anymore. He's not old but has definitely reached that point financially and professionally...

Bivol said that he would go to 168 for the rematch, and Canelo still said ""no". Benavidez, Canelo said "no". The closest person to him on the P4P list, Crawford, Canelo said "no".

This is a retirement tour we are seeing from Canelo.

Berlanga, Eubank jr and then Connor mcgregor. Canelo will go done as the greatest Mexican scammer of all time and his groupie fans will move every second of it because they’re morons.

                      Dumb thread

If Nelo retired yesterday, he'd be a 1st ballot HOFer tomorrow
