TR might pay Norman $1.7M for Teofimo, but definitely not for Cuevas. Norman's doesn't yet have the accomplishments or marquee value to justify 7-figure purses from TR. I think he'll need to beat Teofimo to make that a reality. Team Norman could've handled this situation differently, "We appreciate the offer, but Norman is young and we want to him get a couple defenses before stepping up to fight Ennis." Fans would be disappointed, but accept the reasoning and move on. Norman Jr. now has extra pressure on his shoulders to perform well.

What metrics are we using to justify that Norman is being low-balled though? A boxer's team will always want to extract whatever they can from every negotiation. They THINK they're worth more, so they're willing to wait and milk their title in the meantime. Top Rank will have no issue with this because they get to keep the WBO title on their platform. TR wants Teofimo vs. Norman, and Ennis could potentially spoil that. We've seen this scenario many times. Norman probably won't be fighting Barrios/Stanionis either.
