  • Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn explains frustration with IBF, 'borderline circus act' Team Norman

Promoter Eddie Hearn is at a loss with the IBF when it comes to their welterweight champion, Jaron "Boots" Ennis as they want him now to face mandatory challenger Karen Chukhadzhian, the same fighter Ennis beat 12 rounds to zero some 18 months ago.

Just because Eddie is struggling to land a meaningful fight for Boots at 147, moving to 154 would be a big mistake because at 154 Boots has nothing to offer to any of the big names there - champions or contenders. Too much risk for too little money and not even a belt on the table.

The other champions at 47 are each nice fights for Boots and each would be the best he’s faced. Boots isn’t a star. Talented yes. He becomes a star by facing other champions.

I'd like to hear what he thinks a good offer is for Norman to fight Boots. He needs to cough up a reasonable offer.

From the articles I read on other sites, Eddie claims he offered $1.75M to Norman. He also says he offered more than $1.5M to Stanionis. Is it true? I have no idea.

Maybe I am odd man out here, but I do not care one lick if someone has a belt. King of the Hill, best of the best, and queen of the locker room should be what rules and it would be great if that was not the case and belt actually mattered, but I just do not think that boxing plans care who has a belt and which one it is. Boxing would be so much better off without these ****** sanctioning bodies

IBF was better when they were obnoxiously corrupt. Now they are just incompetent

In the wild, you can have a thriving ecosystem with all kinds of animals, fish, birds, etc. But as soon as a lion, a killer whale, or an eagle show up, the scene changes and animals flee the plains, swim away, or hide in a burrow underground. In boxing, when a killer emerges, divisions become empty
