That’s pretty much the case. They are both cherrypickers! In Danny Garcia’s case; Like Canelo; He simply refused to try. He played it safe by not taking enough risks and avoiding challenges in his career.

Which is very understandable because he was never a good fighter to begin with. It’s also the reason why he avoided the Mayweathers, Pacquiaos and Bud Crawfords of the world because he knew he couldn’t defeat them.

He was a doubles hitter; Not a home run hitter. In simple terms; He was just your basic average fighter. He was not a bad fighter but at the same time he was never a good one either.

    He was a decent fighter.

Boxing allowed this guy to fight Rod Salka and get rich off of it. Boxing is the problem and Canelo is now the #1 problem in boxing. Absolute scammer. And people who pay for his fights aren't boxing fans.

I like Lara. He deserves to be in the hall of fame.

Having said that, the Canelo-Lara fight WAS close. A lot of body work by Canelo gets overlooked in that fight.

The Lara-Williams decision was atrocious as hell, though. I remember watching it live on HBO and thinking, “”Paul Williams has a phenomenal chin, but God damn he is an absolute sucker for the overhand left from a southpaw.”

Lara just kept hitting him again…and again…and again…and again…AND AGAIN.

If I remember correctly, there was even one judge that gave Lara two rounds. I could be mistaken. Either THAT or I’m conflating that fight with Williams-Martinez 1.

The Lara-Angulo fight was also a close fight up until the last minute when Ángulo turned his back and he got a hematoma.

That was a good win for Lara.

It was supreme a-s-s-kissery is what it was.

I watched it on the PPV telecast and thought, “Oh, my God. The brown nosing could NOT be more transparent.” Lol

I like what Turki’s done but that was so cringeworthy. Las Vegas is desperate for bread.

And there are a lot more athletes to choose from! I’ve said this before — although I love boxing, it’s a joke of a sport. Sure, let’s induct a boxer who has two wins versus good opposition and three losses versus very good, but not great, opponents. I don’t even think Lara belongs in the HOF; and he has a better case to get in.
Baseball is the only sport with an actual Hall of Fame.

The rest is a Hall of Pretty Good.

Your opinion has nothing to do with Canelo. You must dream about Canelo at night. Smh. Danny was butt cheeks. He Kos Kahn and got to relaxed in fights thinking his power would bail him out. He never defeated anyone good after that. He was the definition of mediocre in pro boxing. I give him credit , he did as good as he can. But there were better fighters at the time man.
