In my opinion, Garcia was really good some 10 years ago and then ... after the Keith Thurman fight, his mojo was gone and he became a tough contender. His last fight was uninspiring - just like most of his performances in the last 7 years. Since he is still fighting, my assumption is he needs the money because based on his last few appearances, the fire in the belly is long gone.

There was no reason to duck anybody because he knew he couldn't win facts . Good talent lost most of his big fights. HOF for big losses only

If Danny Garcia gets in the HOF then just cancel it.

We need to stop looking at the HOF like something we're trying hard to make a case for popular, name, liked, sympathetic fighters to "get in".

It's like manufacturing reasons for someone to get in. Fighters these days are trying to manufacturer their HOF (see Broner). Sc**** up a vacant belt in 2 or more weight classes vs mid opp and they think they are HOF worthy.

Danny has had a nice career. But I think he is at that stage where having a nice run as the main guy in a division or becoming undisputed is needed for true HOF consideration.

I can’t believe we’re even having this discussion. Any baseball fans here? They would know (or should know) how incredibly difficult it is to be enshrined in Cooperstown. And there are a lot more athletes to choose from! I’ve said this before — although I love boxing, it’s a joke of a sport. Sure, let’s induct a boxer who has two wins versus good opposition and three losses versus very good, but not great, opponents. I don’t even think Lara belongs in the HOF; and he has a better case to get in.

The criteria for getting in the boxing HOF is apparently mere name recognition. Come one, come all.

I think Lara takes this . He too smooth and not slow like Garcia is . Speed is the issue

He fights for PBC. DSG, Thurman, Spence, Porter and a few others really reaped the benefits of the big paychecks Al was giving out in the beginning. It's hard to get out of bed and go to training camp waking up in cashmere slippers. All those WWs of that era suffered career wise from the inactivity.

As for Danny, I think he gets the W over Lara, people will say Lara was/is old. So a good defense against Jermall Charlo would be good and doable.
