I mean really, what big names did Alvarez beat in terms of actually tough fighters? His biggest wins are vs Golovkin, when he was on the decline. Ironically, Canelo's fans will sight the wins vs GGG as major achievements on one thread, while calling him an overrated hype job on others. Alvarez has found excuses for evading those fighters whom he felt would give him difficulty.
You missed the point, which is WHY their legacies are secure. Many here argue that their legacies depended on them fighting and not ducking. Actually taking the fight and winning would go a long way to secure his legacy, but when you finish out an otherwise HOF career with so many soft touches that you could open a mattress factory, it's got to taint it at least some. And when achieving undisputed is one of the biggest achievements in your career, but you ducked the #1 and #2 contenders for the entirety of your reign, it puts big asterisks on your victory.Comment

If that's true, it will only be if Beterbiev struggles and looks old vs Bivol. If he beats the pants off him and doesn't show any significant vulnerabilities, Alvarez won't even mention Artur's name.

You could be right ngl, but still Mbilli had tough test in Dervy whos always a tough pill to swallow for any fighter his weight. Canelo is aging and on the final stages of his career so all those are important factors to consider versus younger, hungrier fighters.Comment

Beterbiev will struggle thats for sure, bivol is no joke, but if he wins canelo will take the fightComment

Love how these guys completely missed the point, talking about ginger risking legacy just because he hasn't faced Benavidez yet, literally just one fighter who btw would've had his shot already if it wasnt for his undiscipline made him lose strap not once but two times but they dont like to remember this crucial fact, some of the biggest boxers in history had soft touches here and there, some of them devastating KO loses but they still great nevertheless.
CrimsonFalcon I didn’t miss the point rather you missed mine .I’m pointing out that even the most highly regarded boxers of all time have weak spots in their resumes. And they’re judged on the totality of their careers as will be Canelo. Now apparently you mean Benavidez as the #1 contender but who is #2 ? Morrell ? If you are claiming Canelo avoided Morrell then I can’t take you seriously.
But hey bro you know damn well these same dudes would immediately jump out the wagon if canelo beats benny and they'll just jump on the Bivol or Beterbiev one and call it another duck. You know how it is. LolComment
