I actually think plant got his title shot too early. Not that 17-18 fights is too early for a title shot in general, I think Plant probably needed more time with an actual trainer team that was championship class. I also don’t think it would have hurt to face more hard nose trial horses with a reputation for rugged fights. When you compare the amount of pro fights Plant had to Canelo, and the vast difference of experience it truly is impressive how well he did in that fight before getting caught

It took carl froch quite a while to become a 12 fighter in the early days he struggled, but he worked hard on improving his cardio.

      (good post)

Artificial and engineered feelings of disrespect in a pathetic effort to generate some hype and interest. It's no different than McCumby with the **** mustache and MAGA schtick. All sizzle and no steak.

It's an underwhelming matchup against a limited opponent that's intended to be a showcase fight to convince us Sweet Hands is back.

I was just thinking about how a title challenge against Uzcategui was a perfect matchup for Plant. Bolovita was a dangerous foe with his aggressive style and punching but had previously shown his vulnerability to smooth boxers. Korobov completely outclassed Bolovita and exposed his shortcomings.

Plant may have got that title shot a bit premature but it's hard to pass up especially against a champion you match up so well against.

It was a good matchup and turned out to be a good fight in which plant had to face some adversity. It also showed that Plant can swat when he needs to especially when counter punching. I wish he turned his right hand over more…he tends to push an arm thrown right cross rather than a hip turning ankle pivoting overhand right

Jessie Hart is upset Caleb Plant picked Cumby, instead of him. Don't know why Plant is putting it all on Mac. Not saying he avoided Hart, but he's more experienced and been there with some of the big boys. McCumby is undefeated, though, but fought crumbs. Maybe it's far from happening, but I want to see Plant get derailed in this fight.

Excellent Point! (as usual). One way that manifested was how much Plant moves. He has no concept of economy of movement, a good trainer like Bread, I am sure can see how that is problematic in the later rounds. If he chose his spots better (he can punch) and had better, more efficient body mechanics I believe he would be greatly improved.
