Mayweather worshippers might remember the exciting Pacquiao, who won titles in 8 divisions in 72 fights and beat many great fighters in their prime. He did that while being a Senator and Congressman in his country. Even though Mayweather had no losses and was a master boxer, he had close calls with several fighters. There are other great fighters like Crawford, Leonard, Duran, Robinson etc. So don't get too crazy with the GOAT stuff.

Ryan doesn't seem to understand that part, and his legacy will suffer for it!
No one thinks Ryan is the nexf Mayweather or at near that level, but ppl did about Shakur and Haney.

          Pacquiao?
          Sounds vaguely familiar.
Did he fight anybody we might recognize?

Definitely Devin, because he was with Floyd Sr. all the time! He looked like the real deal! However, you can't teach power! Ryan just wanna be cool with Floyd, but he don't know how to move out in these streets! He's acting too goofy!

Nothing gets proofread anymore. That's from the days when journalism had standards and professionalism. Nowadays , anyone who can fire up a computer or film a video calls themselves a journalist. I'm not implying that Raskin isn't a journalist , just expressing frustration in general.

I do my best to proofread my own posts. You do as well. I'm right there with you on the disappointment wagon in what passes for journalism these days.

I would like to see Shakur fight anyone and climb his way up the ladder before labeling himself the latest and greatest. Everybody has to start somewhere, He forgets that. Just because he is boxing doesn't mean he is going to become a superstar. Shakur is not the next Mayweather or Pernell Whittaker either. He is more of a bottom of the barrel Mayweather with no power.

                    Simple

He has to have the right dance partners.

If he fights & beats Tank, Ryan, & Devin, he's the biggest star in boxing

Plus, he needs to play up his Puerto Rican heritage.

If he was 1/2 White, instead of 1/2 Black, he'd already be considered a Latin fighter.

This is a well-written, insightful article. As many of the posts herein point out, the simple fact is Shakur Stevenson is not a star. Top Rank, a company that promoted more “stars” than any other, was willing to go the extra mile to try to turn the tide. But, ultimately, they decided the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze. Sports is an entertainment business … Stevenson doesn’t entertain … he prefers to con a win … lucky for him he’s found the perfect mark in Turki Alalshikh.
