    Saul Alverez.
    Wow, what a guy.
Hmm...I wonder if the doors in his home are tall enough for him to walk through, and he does not have to 'duck' them like he ducked Mr. Benavides.

If he some how makes it in to a hall of fame, that would be a wonder, with his history of using peds.

Canelo wasn't afraid to go up and fight a much heavier Kovalev. He never complained about him bringing "25 extra pounds to the table", like he does about Benavidez. This tells me he sees something in Benavidez that he didn't see in the much bigger Kovalev. He also didn't demand 200 million to fight Kovalev. He said Benavidez was a "risky fight", but he didn't say that about Kovalev. So it's much more than just weight that Canelo is concerned about, if not, then he would have expressed the same concerns about facing Kovalev and would've asked for some crazy amount to face him, too. He was also willing to go up and face a much slower African cruiserweight with no problem. So its not just size he's worried about. Canelo is concerned about speed, aggression, and workrate. Because that's what David has that those other big men don't.

So basically what’s happened is Canelo doesn’t have the minerals to fight either of them but he’s already been whipped by the Russian so he automatically hates on Benevidez since he won’t even fight him once and knows everyone wants to see them fight. Not a brave fighter these days is Canelo says I

Canelo ducking Benavidez, there is no other explanation. Let it be on PPV and whatever it sells, that's how much it's worth.

It won't work for Canelo to wait until he's ready to retire, because he's six years older than Benavidez. As time goes on, it just gets harder and harder for Saul to be effective against David, and he knows it. Nothing would embarrass him more than to have his ass handed to him in his last fight. He tried to save face after losing to Bivol by saying that a rematch was his top priority so he could have his revenge, yet it never happened. He instead offered Bivol the same lowball that he offered him in the first fight, knowing that Dimitru would reject it as the victor of that fight. Similarly, he's demanding $200K to fight Benavidez, knowing that even the fifthly oil-rich Alalshiek won't put up that much for one fighter. He even engaged in a public feud with Turki to make sure to sour him against meeting his outrageous demand.
I like your reasoning with this statement. I think Canelo would get more respect by getting in the best shape to fight Benavidez while he still has some of his fighting prime left. The public won't stop asking for that fight so he should be a true people's champion and fight Benavidez. Otherwise if he doesn't want to fight Benavidez then give up his belts. Real champions take risks. I guess we are asking too much of Canelo.

Canelo got to Kovalev when he was much older and out of his prime. He waited until Kovalev got old. Everyone on here knows that an in shape prime Kovalev knocks out Canelo.
