For many of Floyd Mayweather Junior's top level fights during his reign 'The fight night weights, were clearly released on fight night. Floyd Maywather Junior was always most of the time, very close to the 147 pound limit. 150 to 153 pounds approximately'.
People must also factor in that, Mayweather was eating a full breakfast and not really having to alter his diet to make the weight limit.
It is common knowledge that Floyd Mayweather Junior never bought into the modern day toxic weight draining culture in boxing 'Mayweather was actually a old school fighter, in terms of attitude towards training and preparation. And that is why he always stayed close to fighting weight all year round'.
During the boxing era's when the same day weigh in was used 'Fighters were not weight draining themselves to the extreme extents that are displayed with this modern boxing era. Because quite simply that type of lifestyle, and those training practices were not conducive for longevity or performance'.
I have been over this many times on here, and like I have stated before 'It just seems like certain folk in boxing now, are not interfacing with objective reality or history. They just make things up, and complete distort history for their personal narratives to make some sense to them. So they can ether disrespect fighters, or undermine feats of achievement that have been reached in history'.
Those folk need to understand, that there are people in boxing community 'That don't play like that'.
Note: Other fighters who also shared this old school methodology were from my knowledge Bernard Hopkins and Carl Froch 'There are more modern day fighters who also incorporated such methodologies, but those are some of the most prominent fighters'.
Even when people try to criticise Floyd Mayweather Junior for not making the 144 pound catch weight, for his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez 'Think again, Mayweather had been in semi-retirement for close to 2 years, 22 months to be specific'.
Mayweather was a 147 pound fighter, when he went into semi-retirement after his victory over Ricky Hatton 'Mayweather even after a 22 month break from the sport, was still able to weigh in at 146 pounds. That is 2 pounds under the 147 pound weigh limit'.
Floyd Mayweather Junior was still the fighter, coming down in weight 'And potentially losing performance way more than Juan Manuel Marquez who in comparison was moving up in weight and most likely weight draining himself much less. I honesty don't think people can reference that particular fight, and attempt to use it as evidence to back some nonsensically narrative that Mayweather Junior was weight draining himself or undisciplined when it come to fight preparation'.
To conclude: One of the hallmark traits and best attributes Floyd Mayweather Junior had as a fighter 'Was his dedication, discipline and passion for training. And during a era in boxing were many fighters were moving away from old school training methodologies and advice, championing more modern practices and lifestyles which have been proven since? To be extremely detrimental and negative over the long term for a fighters well being and condition. The template and attitude which Floyd Mayweather Junior had as a fighter towards training and fight preparation, was one of the major reasons for his longevity in the sport compared to some of his closest competition'.
Even now at this stage of his life, this man and fighter 'Is a magnificent inspiration, to professional boxers at all stages of their careers. And also people in wider general public universally'.
I mentioned in one of my recent posts, that it was Rocky Balboa who stated 'That boxing is a metaphor to life'.
People must understand, when fighters retire from the competitive boxing ring 'That does not mean they have retired from all fights, confrontations, challenges and ambitions in life. Because to live, is in part to fight. Everyone is fighting something'.
Nobody can really catch Floyd Mayweather Junior out now, he has most likely trained and prepared for his latest exhibition way below 50% of his usual intensity 'But even this intensity would be a extreme effort and challenge for certain folk to sustain and achieve'.
Boxing is still apart of Floyd Mayweather Junior's life, and the attitude and template which he used to prepare during his career 'Is still from my observation being applied now. And we can see those similar traits with others fighters during retirement such as Bernard Hopkins and Evander Holyfield' etc.

Floyd has refused to get on the scale on the day of the fight for most of his fights. He missed the catchweight against Marquez and was visibly much larger in the ring. If you look at his size against Manny, he appears to be at least 15 or more pounds heavier inside the ring. Floyd insists he walks around at about 154 between fights. If that were true, then why would he need an IV to replenish fluids on the eve of his biggest fight if he only had to lose 7 pounds in a 10 - 12 week training camp? Either way he's a liar.

Suddenly when it's your favourite fighter they are 10lbs lighter and they dont know how to weightcut anymore despite being well versed with it from the ammys to the pros, all to fit your narrative.
It is common knowledge that Floyd Mayweather Junior never weight drained himself, and bought into the modern day toxic weight draining culture 'Like many of his nearest competition, or fighters from his era. Go and have a look at the condition of those fighters now, post retirement compared to Floyd Mayweather Junior'.
Mayweather in post retirement, is using the same template he would apply as active professional fighter 'That is clear to see, as I have stated? Floyd Mayweather Junior is still a great inspiration for professional boxers, and the general wider public in that regard'.
Note: Here is some evidence for you below, which supports the fact that Floyd Mayweather Junior never weighted drained himself extensively during his career.
Floyd Mayweather Junior weighed in at 149 pounds 'For fight night weight against his fight vs Carlos Baldomir'.
Floyd Mayweather Junior unofficially in his fight vs Zab Judah weighed in at the exactly the 147 pound weight limit still on fight night.
In this video below, HBO on their live broadcast are clearing displaying in the pre fight statistics the fight night weights of both Floyd Mayweather Junior and Sharmba Mitchell. At the 19 minute 15 second mark, the broadcast is showing Mayweather's fight night weight at 148 pounds and Mitchell's fight night weight at 155 pounds.
To conclude: It is up to yourself, whether you want to carry on attempting to distort history 'And refuse to interface with objective reality'. But like I stated in my first posts on this thread, there are certain people within the boxing community who don't play like that.
Floyd Mayweather Junior in terms of his attitude and conduct was a old school fighter 'During the boxing era's when the same day weigh in was used 'Fighters were not weight draining themselves to the extreme extents that are displayed with this modern boxing era. The only people on this thread, attempting to create a narrative or promote one 'Are Floyd Mayweather Junior's critics. The Truth is out there for everyone to discover in regards to his career, his lifestyle and feats of achievement' etc.

Lets take Mayweather Vs Ndou, Mayweather fight night weight is 140lbs in 2003. Now two years later that is 148lbs in 2005, gaining 8lbs in 2 years ? What is the trend after another 3 years ? Plus a retirement where it is all you can eat for 2 years straight ? Now suddenly the fight day weigh ins stop ? Now there are IVs ? Penalties for coming over the agreed weight ? And now you claim that a prime fully muscled up Jr is lighter then the out of shape 160lbs version, although it is facutal that muscle weighs more than fat ?
He could get away being light against mediocre opponent but there is no evidence being light against elite opponents or else there would be a prime Mosley/Wright/Forrest on that resume around the time he fought nobody Mitchell. There are not even Cotto (prime, before 2 beatdowns), Margarito, Pwill on that resume. After retirement No Bradley, no prime Pac, no Sergio Martinez 154 but yes Cotto at 154. Its a bottom of the barrel type of resume in terms of opponents available. There is this mythical narrative that is trying to get conveyed but it has no basis in the reality of that era, let alone other eras where lighter fighters were winning HW titles. These are all facts.

Whatever boxing division Floyd Mayweather Junior fought in during his career, whether that be Light Weight, Welter Weight and Super Welter Weight Division's 'The facts are, that Mayweather while competing in those divisions, would never weigh much above the weight limit come fight night. Those are the facts of Floyd Mayweather Junior's fight preparation, and anybody who knows anything about boxing history will attest that information being correct'.
So when Floyd Mayweather Junior was fighting in the 135 pound divisions, on fight night 'Due to Mayweather not weight draining himself extensively, he never weighed much over the weight limit. Mayweather carried this trait with him through his entire career, and displayed it in all weight division's that he competed in'.
Note: I have already proven this, by posting a video a live HBO broadcast 'Clearly showing the fight night weights of Floyd Mayweather Junior and his opponents'.
Floyd Mayweather Junior has been retired for almost 8 years, if you count his fight against Conor Mcgregor as a legitimate professional boxing contest 'Conor Mcgregor vs Floyd Mayweather Junior was by no means exhibition fight, but I think most people recognized that Floyd Mayweather Junior's real retirement was after he fought Andre Berto'.
Therefore whatever fight people want to consider Floyd Mayweather Junior's conclusive fight on his resume 'Mayweather has been retired for approximately 8 to 9 years'.
To conclude: Floyd Maweather Junior latest exhibition, the weight limit for the fight was 175 pounds 'Mayweather weighed in at 160 pounds, approximately 15 pounds under the 175 pound weight limit. The exact weight Mayweather weighed din at was 160.38 pounds'.
Floyd Mayweather Junior even at this stage of his life, for a exhibition is still preparing for fights 'Using the same template that he used during boxing career. Mayweather would not of gained much weight over 160 pounds, because he is a fighter who does not weight drain himself extensively'.
There is vastly more evidence which proves all of the statements and points I have made in my posts, than the contrary. Floyd Mayweather Junior never weight drained himself during his career, he stayed close to his fighting weight all year round. And he carried this trait with him through his entire career in all weight divisions that he competed in'.
Now, really by this stage of my posts you should understand how flawed your reasoning and stance is. There is a vast amount of solid evidence out there that can be very easily accessed, which clearly shows that Floyd Mayweather Junior in terms of his attitude towards training and fight preparation was a old school fighter.
During the boxing era's when the same day weigh in was used 'Fighters were not weight draining themselves to the extreme extents that are displayed with this modern boxing era. Because quite simply that type of lifestyle, and those training practices were not conducive for longevity or performance'.
That was the lifestyle and those were the fundamental training methodologies that Floyd Mayweather Junior mainly used during his entire boxing career etc.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 08-30-2024, 04:02 PM.

Dumb thread.
We know, as a fact, the highest Floyd ever weighed in for a fight was 151 lbs (Cotto).
We also know from multiple fight day weigh ins that he never weighed in above 150 for any of those.
And we also know, he weighed in at 149 for a 30 day weigh in for Guererro.
So, we know his ring weight, by all accounts, is around 150 lbs

He did same day weigh ins numerous times all the way up to 2014 and he never weighed in more than 150 lbs.
That’s a fact.
