crawford had his hands full at 154. what happens when he has no power at 168 and canelo has no respect for him? all those counters dont matter if they dont change fighter behavior, if canelo isnt afraid of them, if it doesnt let crawford control the pace and positioning of the fight.

You're also presuming Canelo will fight like Spence. And according to some, Spence was weight-drained plus the car crash factor. Canelo won't have any of those disadvantages.

I found this mail bag very interesting for two reasons. Firstly the inside knowledge on Canelo says that he hates Crawford and he will never give him the payday. I still remember Canelo yelling at Andrade "payday, payday, payday". So based on that all hypothetical discussions on this forum on who would win that fight seem to be pointless. It is not happening.

The second reason is funny. Breadman is acusing the guy of suffering from SPITR (smartest person in the room) syndrome. I had to laugh while reading his two page response. Talk about cattle calling the pot black.

Before I answer, please don't come off thinking I'm a Canelo fan, because I am not! The 23 year old Canelo, before his prime, did get smacked around by Floyd. Canelo a 100 times better than the one that got beat by Floyd. Like him or not, he's a great fighter. He's not only 14lbs bigger, but he is very skilled. IMO Bud cannot hurt Canelo. He's getting walked down and the beating is gonna start around round 6. Bud gets brutalized to the body and then, like the much bigger Plant, he gets caught late and ko'd.

Good points so I'll answer this as honest and fairly as I can.

You say that Canelo is a better fighter today and I agree but he hasn't changed that much and he's not the same psychically. The few things Canelo learned still require a stationary target that depends on the other guy gassing out. .....But what if they don't? Canelo tried to walk down Floyd and lost because he needed a stationary target. Simply applying that same walk down tactic and expecting a different outcome against a strong, accurate counter puncher with footwork, angles and stamina isn't a winning formula.

I think you base a lot on Canelo vs Calib Plant and on the surface it seems correct but not enough consideration is being given for the difference in styles or approach. Usyk looked like he was being over powered by Dubois and the assuption was that the bigger more powerful, more skilled Fury would blast right through Usyk but he didn't because styles make fights. Plant wasn't countering, he didn't use angles, nothing with authority, nothing accurate, just quick, pitty pat punches and flurrys to steal rounds. All Canelo had to do was cut the ring, plant his feet, and let his hands go because nothing was coming back. Calib gassed out and Canelo tee off. (Calib today is much improved but that's another subject)

Canelo isn't fighting for legacy, he's obviously fighting easy for money and there's 80 million on the table. If Crawford was easy Canelo grab that massive money but he isn't, because Canelo, just like me, doesn't think Crawford is as easy as you might.

Styles make fights, it's a competitive fight of styles and I'd like to see it.

If Bud survives 12 rounds he’ll be awarded the decision over Canelo . All he has to do is keep it fairly close . And Canelo knows he’ll never get a fair decision with Turkey promoting .I hope he never lets Bud or Benavidez make any money off his clout . Canelo doesn’t need them .They need Canelo .

No need for hope Tony, Canelo is fighting Mungia, Berlanga, Khan and cans he can pop out in 5. I personally guarantee Canelo's not fighting Morrell, Benavidez or Cawford or anyone else that might kick his ass, not for 100 million and all the clout in the world .
